The room is small and the annex is weird with a cold subterranean lobby leading to the rooms. It's got pretensions of grandeur which definitely don't extend to the 'court' section which is clean but very dated. Meal was nice but expensive. Staff very welcoming.

Traveled on business, It is a bit dated but I don't mind this as it was clean, tidy and staff were more than friendly. Was in a separate 'budget' building adjacent to the hotel, but it was quiet and out of the way.

We have just stayed at this hotel for just one night with friends who were celebrating a wedding anniversary. We had drinks in the bar in the basement, and then popped to our room to change for dinner. The hotel is full of character and that just makes it special, the room was very nice, king size bed which was...

We attended a valentines dance on the 11th of February 2017, we stayed overnight so we didn't have to drive home in the early hours of Sunday. Our room was very nice, warm comfortable and a nice comfy bed. There was a hot buffet which was delicious, a choice of currys, lasagna, with rice or chips, and the usual nan...

Had a family birthday party here on Sunday. Mixed ages attending. We were in the corner which seemed quite dark in comparison to the rest of the area. Our table was for 2pm. I feel the staff really let this down, every time we wanted a drink we got up and went to the bar, not at any time did...

One of the best places I've ever stayed up. So recommended and worth a visit. The place is set in beautiful grounds, which we wandered around. Evening meal was lovely and breakfast was huge. Will go again x

I remember this place being pretty tired but it's clearly undergone a big refurbishment and is great. Good service and good room rates. Stayed for work and used a meeting room too - all expected meeting facilities available and very pleasant and light room. Will return.

From the initial inquiry some months ago until our departure I could not fault any of the staff with whom we came into contact. All questions were dealt with competently and efficiently. Food was excellent and everyone did their best to make our event an enjoyable one.

Maybe should have asked beforehand where the afternoon tea would be held. Didn't expect to be in the basement. Such a shame in an iconic building. The afternoon tea itself was ok especially the sandwiches. Cakes were a bit on the heavy side and strange 'scones'. The staff were very helpful.
