I stayed in a double room. On arrival I felt that the room didn't smell all that fresh although it appeared clean. The towels had a stale washing odour and the shower lacked power. The bed was appalling - the springs were sticking out and noisy. The breakfast was good although the dining room had a damp smell. It would...

Stayed in the B+B for a few nights and had one of the most comfortable stays we've had recently. Room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Bed was a nice treat after a long days walking! The breakfasts in the morning are lovely, a nice variety of things to have with the cooked breakfast being the highlight! If...

Friendly and polite hosts made us feel very welcomed. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a short driving distance from some beautiful places in the forest of dean. We went into Monmouth one night for food (10mins down the road), which was a really nice italian restaurant. highly recommended.

Visited for a long weekend of three nights in July 2016. We booked a four poster B&B room. It wasn't quite what we were expecting as the rooms are motel style, but to be honest, we were really impressed. The room was clean (and cleaned well every day). Claire was very friendly and attentive and the breakfast was cooked amazingly...

I booked this at quite short notice through TripAdvisor and the booking process was great. Really quick communications with Darren and Claire who held it for me while I dithered about. They do not take TripAdvisor payments but are totally trustworthy so I had no problem with making a BACS payment which confirmed my booking in under an hour. The...

We stayed for 3 nights during England's very brief heatwave and my only dislike to the lodge was it felt impossible to get the bed area cool. It's a shame there aren't any sky light Windows! The apartment is clean and the kitchen is equipt which everything you may need. The garden isn't private at the back but we didn't...

Stayed in No 7, which was exactly like the images, airy open plan room with scenic views. The bed was a little uncomfortable and there are tiny skylights that ensure you know when it's morning.. There is WiFi on site but not in the room, you can get some intermittent connection in the communal dinning area only. But hey you're...

We stayed here for 3 nights at no.7 and this was a lovely little apartment with all the appliances you need for self catering (no washing machine tho, so you will have to do all that when you get back home...who wants to wash on holiday anyway?). It is all open plan and very modern and clean. There was alot...

This is a gem of a place. The self-catering accommodation was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with everything (and more) that we needed. The information provided about local walks was invaluable and really helped us make the most of our stay in the area. We stayed with our dog and the place suited us all perfectly. The owners have...

Perfect for a weekend getaway! We stayed in apartment 5 for two nights and absolutely loved it. Lots of information and leaflets etc to look at in room. The owners have written comprehensive instructions on how to walk to various pubs, so we decided to follow the trail to the Saracens Head for dinner one night. Lovely walk which takes...
