Booked this place due to price which had dropped to £30 for the night Greeted by Alex a Romanian lad who was charming and helpful showed us to our room and helped up the stairs with bags etc. In difficult times Owner Ian is trying hard to stay in business and was really kind to have a chat with us and a drink at the end of the day after a long drive. place could do with some TLC. Room was a bit cold but the bed was surprisingly comfortable under a nice warm duvet. great location right in the centre of Chippenham, parking is free from 6pm but you have to get out and move your car before 8am or you will get a ticket. People expecting the Ritz or the waldorf estoria go somewhere else but if you are on a tight budget and just need somewhere to land for the night this is perfect. Thank you to Ian & Alex for making us so welcome Des n Di

This might of only been for one night but boy was it an experience! The building itself is striking and stands at the top of the main high street and although I was a little surprised when I walked in through the front door I thought that the rooms would at least be clean. Well after paying cash as their card machine was u/s unfortunately it seemed that the whole place was exactly the same. The bathroom was vile with a pee ridden toilet back splash and radiator (which didn’t work) just to the left of the toilet. The shower cubicle was tiled with mouldy orange grout and cracks dotted around the bottom. The toilet had toilet paper in it and never flushed properly as the Saniflow system wasn’t working as well as it should and filled nearly to the brim! The sink was dirty, the sink unit had loads of brown drips down it, didn’t want to know what that was! Out of three lights only one in the shower cubicle worked so there was nothing by the mirror over the sink so trying to put on my makeup I had to use the torch on my phone! The sheets and the duvet cover were clean but two long brownish hairs picked off the ill fitting sheet. The room was absolutely freezing over night and kept waking up as I was so cold and there were no extra blankets. My main problem was with the bathroom and it was that bad that I couldn’t bring myself to use the shower and that is the first time I have ever left a hotel, B&B or hostel without having a shower in the morning!!

Stayed for a couple of nights in the week, I found the staff very friendly and am thoroughly impressed with the pet friendly detail of the pub. The Hotels dog Milo is super friendly and cuddly, he just adds charm to the hotel. My room was very clean, with a substantial amount of tea and coffee making facilities. Very good value for money as it suited my budget and is located in the town centre, close to the bus station (even though you can't hear the noise of it) and has beautiful views of the Market place. Would recommend. Also has great entertainment in the evenings. Definitely good fun!!!
