The room was fresh and seemed to have been recently decorated. There was a shower and foam soap and hair and body wash dispensers were provided. The room was a good size and there were 2 comfy chairs, and a desk/dressing table and clothes hanging facility. Parking was free and behind the hotel and there were plenty of spaces. The hotel was close to some good eating places - although a hot breakfast was available to guests. Anna on reception when I arrived answered my questions about good local food places but also pointed out that cooked breakfasts were available at the hotel.

The room was spotlessly clean and so was the bathroom. The bed was really comfy. We liked the position of the hotel as it allowed us to walk into the town centre easily. The staff we met were all very friendly and helpful. The only improvement I could suggest would be to have a few more hooks for clothes and some shelves to put things on or in.

Had a lovely experience here. Manager was so helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Will be booking again soon. Thank you for a really warm welcome and stay. We had a family outing so the hotel was close and had everything we were looking for.

We came here last minute as an urgent travel to Chippenham was required, we looked online and thought it was just what we were looking for, food served until 10pm as it was already getting late. We arrived at 8:25pm we had pre paid for our meal at the time of booking as we hadn’t eaten all day, after checking in we were told that the restaurant was closing at 9pm as they were instructed to close early from head office because their card machines were not working so it was cash only.! We then had to walk to a cash point down the road so we could buy a soft drink each with our meal, not a problem these things happen but left us very rushed for dinner. We sat down and placed our order, my husband ordered a vegetable pizza and I ordered chicken burger and chips, my food arrived at the table by the chef (no cutlery) I asked the front of house staff member for some, this did not happen, 9 minutes later.!! My husbands pizza arrives again delivered by the chef and still no cutlery so we asked the chap at the bar again, 5 minutes later still nothing so we ask AGAIN, he then moans that the chef is a nightmare and he should have brought them out (never known a chef have to deliver food and cutlery) we were then waiting 10 minutes for a side of chips my husband ordered with his pizza, the pizza was awful it looked like it had a tin of sweet corn chucked on it (even the staff commented) and it was so soggy it was even falling through a fork.! The lady staff member come to ask if all was ok so my husband explained the mess ups so far as well as his meal and she just said would you like another, he did decline as he didn’t want another soggy pizza, with that she said ok whipped the plate away and not to be seen again. My husband is then eating his side of chips when the chef comes out and dumps his pudding on the table (stone cold fudge cake) I’m still eating my meal then 2 minutes later mine gets dumped on the table (still eating my burger) and also stone cold. I said to the chef I don’t mean to be a pain but please can these be warmed up as it states warm melted in the middle fudge cake, he replied well they are supposed to be cold but if you want it warm I will warm it up, WOW he needs menu training. I would also question why is the chef doing the cooking, cutlery and condiments and delivering food to the table when there are 2 staff members sat behind the bar on mobile phones? I can understand there are hiccups when places are busy but to make this worse we were the only people in the restaurant nobody else.! The staff were rude, clearly didn’t want to work and definitely have no customer service.! I would not employ them and I think these two really need looking into. Apart from the absolute mess of checking in and dinner time the room was lovely, very spacious, very clean and well presented. Very very pleased with the room and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Unfortunately we will not return to this hotel due to the staff and staff only, a shame as this would have been ideal for our regular travel trips. Would I try another travel lodge? I don’t know. We visited Monday 14th June

You always get what you pay for with Travelodge and this was a good find. Cheap, cheerful and a nice bed to lay your head on after a busy day. Hygiene and covid measures up to standard, good encounters with staff and a free car park which is always a bonus. Not too far from the town centre and very handy for the train station. Let down? Walls are PAPER thin. Two rooms across the hall decided they were having an all night party and the whole floor was invited without even leaving their rooms! Reception were quick to respond after I called them after midnight so the onus was not on them at all. It is just your luck when you book, right? I would still use this again, can't go wrong.
