Just back from a lovely weekend at the Dounside House. It was wonderful. The hotel is gorgeous: beautiful grounds, warm and inviting entrance and places to sit, cozy bar, nice restaurant, stunning bedrooms and a small but perfectly formed health club. The staff were superb and really added to the lovely relaxing atmosphere. can't wait to go back!

Booked this hotel with a dinner b&b offer. On arrival we were given a small tour and history of the building, which was very interesting. There are items throughout the hotel connected to the family history which adds to the ambiance. Log fires giving off that cosy feel. We opted for the taster menu which had some interesting flavours and...

Just back from an overnight stay at Douneside Hotel. We booked this as a winter offer that included a three course Dinner and Breakfast. This hotel has just lately opened to the general public and I feel so lucky to have spent a night there. Will definitely return and the sooner the better. It's a beautiful hotel and has recently...

Went to Douneside House for 2 nights for a birthday treat for my husband. It was wonderful. We had a lovely room with large bathroom which had a bath plus walk in shower- a huge plus for me as I don't care for shower/bath combination. Had lovely meal on first night, a small but interesting menu. Breakfast was also very...

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay. I'm also pleased to hear you enjoyed the paired drinks with the tasting menu, Tom spends a considerable amount of time matching them to bring out and balance the flavours of the food and wine so I'll certainly pass onto him! Look forward to welcoming you back soon,...

Turned up unexpectedly as heard of refurbishment from a friend. Lovely welcome from Tom who whisked up coffee and delicious scones and cakes and sat us next to a roaring fire in the bar. Had a wee look round and were very impressed with the quality and design of the hotel. The bedrooms are big and beautifully furnished with stunning...

I had previously visited for afternoon tea and knew I wanted to come back to stay over. We took advantage of the winter DBB deal. We were warmly greeted by Tom who showed us around the hotel and took us up to our room. The room was cozy and inviting, with a very comfortable bed and also a really good...
