#14 of 22 hotels in Weymouth
The Royal is an impressive building of intricate architecture built in the ‘Free Renaissance’ style and boasting fantastic views over the beach and bay. Only a short stroll to the shops, seaside attractions and the famously beautiful harbour and marina, the location could not be better for exploring all that Weymouth has to offer. Despite its imposing structure, the Royal is enjoyed for its warm and friendly atmosphere. The hotel benefits from a games room and comfortable lounges in which to enjoy the entertainment. During the day you also have the option to relax in the public bar whilst you admire the views overlooking the bay.

Stayed with my friend last week. We booked 2 separate rooms, 1 double and 1 single. Both were comfortable and very reasonable priced. The rooms were clean and the beds comfy. The rooms generally felt in-line with the price we had paid. The staff at this hotel were lovely and very friendly. The additional cleaning measures were evident too and all in all it was a really lovely stay. We will definitely be back. There is so much to do in and around Weymouth and we had a lovely meal at the Smugglers Inn which is about 4 miles away in Osmington Mills.

Royal hotel at Weymouth is a good choice for those who are looking for a decent place to stay for a small break or a short business trip. The location is really central and my room had a beautiful view of the bay. The town's high street and quay are within walking distance. Many interesting indepentent stores and nice cafes and pubs. The building is quite old and the room and bathroom were very simple but clean . Do not expect any luxurious rugs, curtains, lighting or bedspreads and cushions. Decent breakfast as well. Polite and friendly staff. Overall a good experience.

Just had a 7 day break here our room was lovely looked like it had been updated and very clean with a nice bathroom with shower. All staff were very friendly and accommodating especially the young man running the bar he made sure everyone had been served and under the circumstances he did a very good job as it was table service only and we were never waiting long to get drinks, they had entertainment on two nights which both were very good. At meal times you were taken to your table, you had a different table every day both at breakfast and evening meals the food was very good thank you to the chef and again the staff were very good with serving you especially the Spanish lady she was lovely and very friendly we never waited long to be served our meals . It was nice to see some of the old staff had been kept on from when it used to be run by Shearings and that the manager was still there Denise she is a lovely lady and Andraios on reception he is a lovely man very helpful and very friendly, and I must add I think Bespoke are doing a good job in opening and running this hotel again because it’s a beautiful Hotel and in a great location in Weymouth and I will return when I can I had a brilliant holiday Thank you

I would stay here again if it was in a different room. Stayed here for 2 nights the staff were fantastic and the lift was amazing to use it's a old style one. However the room wasn't great. The bed was squeeky a little uncomfortable the sheets were clean. The wallpaper was coming off the walls and the paint work could be done again as parts were dirty. The surfaces of the room were very clean apart from the shower where the shower door goes looks either dirty or rusty think it needs updating as the housekeeping done a great job on the actual shower cubical. The water pressure was terrible on the 4th floor. The young man in the bar area was incredibly helpful in taking orders and nothing was too much for him. The other staff including reception and housekeeping were of the same standered. A friend and I stayed at this hotel she had a double sea view room which was perfect. I think some of the rooms need some work on. Great hotel apart from some of the rooms.

Formerly owned by Shearings Group and sadly they did not invest in this hotel. Looking very tired - inside and out. Rooms very basic and dark. Corridors gloomy. Lots of unpleasant smells. Very sad indeed, and not very royal at all. Quite an embarrassment for Weymouth.
