Stayed for New Year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Virginia Cottage is kept exceptionally clean throughout. Had a four poster room with tea & coffee facilities, fridge and lovely en suite shower room. Pre-ordering your breakfast the evening before on a form in your room and sitting at the table with the same number as your room made life quite...

Stated for two nights between Christmas and New Yew. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. Free parking across the load and free users the gym and spa at a hotel just down the road. The host, Graeme was very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this guest house.

We have stayed here on several occasions and love the personalised touches like home made biscuits in the room and complementary sherry and biscuits in the lounge. Fantastic location with free parking at the Belsfield just across the road. You also get a day pass for the spa facilities at the Macdonald Hotel. Rooms are tastefully decorated. Wonderful hosts and...

Excellent central location, very welcoming owners & beautiful, exceptionally clean rooms. Wonderful food completed our short stay! Plenty of bars, pubs & restuarants within 2 minute walk & great mixture of shops lining streets.

Had a lovely short relaxing break at this guest house between Christmas and New Year, very central to all shops, bars and restaurants and easy walking distance round the edge of the lake. The breakfast was very good and the dining room was set out well. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable, the jacuzzi bath was great...

This b & b is exactly what it says on the tin. Firsly, the breakfast and the choices available were spot on - really fresh, well cooked and served food. The 4 poster room we had was a little bit of a squeeze however it was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern with nice little guest touches and again spotlessly...

Its is within walking distance to the lake, and many eateries within walking distance. Absolutely no service. Although claimed to provide free wifi, but password not given. When called to check, simply gave an answer that its at the back of the welcome holder, nothing was written there. Claimed to provide parking space, was referred to another hotel where there...

Thank you for your review. We did inform you of where to find them when you contacted reception. We do share a car park with another hotel 25...

The owner of the hotel is very kind, we took two dogs and spent a happy vocation there. The breakfast was very good, we could choose what we want. And the hotel is near the Lake District. It is a nice place to live when you travel here!

Welcoming and friendly staff. We enjoyed the free cookies and sherry and the use of nearby Spa. Room was nice, clean and tidy. The only thing that could be improve is the breakfast, it was ok but not amazing.

The owner text me on the day to ask what time we'd be arriving so he could meet us and check us in. When we arrived, we were shown to our room. We opted for a 4 poster bed room and were not disappointed. The room was very clean and tidy with separate en suite shower and toilet; as well...
