Some of my in-laws are over from South Korea, so we wanted to show them the beauty of the Lake District, and so we chose to take them to The Belfield in Bowness, so that we could all sit on the lawns and enjoy coffee...More

Just spent an idyllic 2 days in this fabulous hotel. We upgraded to the Bridal Suite which did not disappoint, the views were amazing. Excellent location in the heart of Windermere. Easy walking distance to town and lake

Windermere is not for walking "round" ! One of my favourite walks is to take the chain link ferry - just a few minutes drive from the Belsfield - across to the other side of the lake, walk round Claire Heights and through the fields above the lake to Far Sawrey then have lunch at Cuckoo Brow a super dining pub. You can use the steamers that go from the jetty below the Belsfield to get to different parts of the Lake and walk from there - there's a hop on hop off ticket that suits that ideally. Have a good time - it's fabulous, especially a little out of season

We stayed in one recently. It was fine for two adults for a couple of nights. There's plenty of wardrobe space and it has a shower room rather than a bath, which was a little pokey but good enough. Only issue was no real view and our outlook was across the air con units which were quite noisy. Size-wise it depends on what you're used to - US visitors would find it tiny, European ones probably fairly normal. I would book it again. Hope that helps.
