We booked 2 course meal for 2 with Travel Zoo, based on their menu, advertised in advance, which included pumpkin soup with Parmesan, Cartmel pheasant breast and chocolate meringue with orange gel as options BUT on arrival, were told the soup was now leek and potato (not very exciting, so we didn't order it!) and that there was no pheasant...

Got a deal here, and its a good job we did as I would be very disappointed at full price. Firstly the staff were fine, friendly and service was not a problem. Our room was room number 5 on the ground floor and we did not find it that good. Clean, but an obstructed view of a window box and...

Another lovely trip to the Ryebeck. We took our dog who is welcome in a dog friendly bedroom. We had a lovely room on the ground floor with a view of the lake. There were French doors which meant we could clean the dog easily before allowing in the room but it also meant easy access if we needed to...

We stayed one night at the ryebeck this weekend. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The dining room with the view of the lake is stunning. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The guy who took our breakfast orders was particularly nice and cheerful to all guests. Our room was cosy and clean. Breakfast was great. Only one small...

This was our fourth visit to the Ryebeck and yet again, we were not disappointed. We took advantage of an email bargain rate. We were made very welcome on our arrival and shown to our comfortable and cosy room with a lovely view of the gardens. We relaxed in the lounge in the afternoon and very good it was so...

We booked the hotel through a TravelZoo offer. Everything was simply excellent right from arrival, when we found in the room a delightful hand written card welcoming us. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night. I had the venison which was very tasty and tender, similar to the lamb and both with perfect potatoes and veg. The wine...

As you will see if you read any of my 226 reviews I never complain. I would hate my comments to effect someones livelihood. But on this occasion I feel I need to highlight a couple of issues regarding this hotel. My husband and i always treat ourselves to a break in the Lakes following the busy festive season. We...

Absolutely wonderful hotel. We were upgraded and had the most lovely room with an amazing ensuite. The staff were very cheerful and welcoming. A wide selection was offered for breakfast and the cooked Lakeside breakfast was of the best quality and particularly well cooked. We would have liked to have eaten at the hotel one night but found the menu...
