Stayed for one night in room 20 which looks like has just been returned as everything was brand spanking new. Lovely room, comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom. Lovely little touches like home made shortbread and brownies in room. Cream scones and prosecco on arrival was perfect and a lovely touch. Now the evening meal.... What can I say, it was the...

My wife and I stayed here Sat 22nd August 2015 and were allocated the poorly reviewed, room 5. It was small and the view from the window was poor. It is next to the kitchen back door so staff were popping in and out. There were two single beds pushed together and one was lower than the other. It was...

Quality hotel with amazing restaurant. The food was out of this world small portions of artistically prepared food and very satisfying, the venison I had just melted in my mouth. There is also a beautiful garden and bar. The location is perfect for activities you would typically do in The Lake District, we did Scafell Pike which is about an...

This mini break was Ruby standard. Friendly welcome, a tastefully furnished, clean and well appointed room, great views of extensive well maintained gardens. Exquisite, cleverly designed and superbly presented meals, not only in the evening but also breakfast. The restaurant is designed to give guests privacy without it being uncomfortable and staff who smiled, greeted and made us feel so...

We were lucky enough for the sun to shine on us for our stay. The grounds are splendid with nice views of Windemere. We went on the Travelzoo deal. Our room was newley decorated and very nice and comfortable. The evening meal was exceptional. Great experience. As already stated, the classical music (about 7 tracks on repeat) could do with...

Stayed here for our 15th wedding anniversary it was absolutely fantastic and would book again tomorrow. We booked a lake facing superior room (which I think have just been renamed grand rooms) and got room 8. The room was a good size with a window view to the lake and a four poster bed and tidy bathroom. If I booked...
