We loved staying here. The location is so convenient that you never have to drive far to visit the highlights in the Lake District and driving to the ferry in Hull is approx. 3 hours, which is fine. We loved the ensuite room, with view over the lake in which you feel at home and is very clean. The owners...

First time in the Lakes, on our bucket list. Surprisingly good drive from Romford to Cumbria, 5 hours driving 284 miles! Couldn't be more impressed with Fair Rigg, under new management of Christine and Richard, warm, friendly and helpful hosts, excellent generous size room with all facilities for a comfortable stay (room 5, top floor, amazing view). Breakfast was a...

The Fair Rigg is a gem. The room (5) and en-suite bathroom (shower not bath) were a good size and included a sofa and coffee table. The view from the window was wonderful. The full English breakfast was excellent but they also catered for those who prefer the 'continental' or had special dietary needs. There were some nice touches too....

We are regular visitors to Bowness and decided to stay at this guesthouse after reading the other great reviews on trip advisor. The guesthouse itself is lovely and in a nice location just outside the centre only a 15 minute walk but it was only £4 in a taxi so we could get into the centre easily in the evening....

Hi Chantelle and thanks very much for your great review, it was lovely to meet you and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, as you say we are close enough to Bowness to access the great restaurants bars and coffee shops but far enough away to avoid the late night noise. Of course we also...

We always find it difficult when we are visiting friends in the area to locate a bed and breakfast which will do one night stays at weekends. Fair Rigg were happy to do this at the beginning of June. It's in a pleasant location, walkable down to the marina with views of the Lake. I still can't believe how immaculate...

Had a lovely long weekend here in May. Spacious rooms that were cleaned every day with good views, especially from large bathroom windows. Pleasant enough walk from the centre and quiet at night. Breakfast was filling and they were fantastic with my very picky vegetarian girlfriend.

Christine and Ian provided a very comfortable stay. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to help. The accommodation was very superior with lots of extras and very well serviced. The Breakfast menu was very large, lots of options. The position of Fair Rigg was convenient yet just away from all the bustle. Would recommend...

Fair Rigg is around 10-15 minutes walking distance from Bowness-on-Windermere centre. It is really nice to take a walk along to the path over the lake.Because of the location Fair Rigg is a very quiet place. Every guest can find a car parking space there. All the rooms are fabulous - big size with tasteful furniture. It is very warm...
