My partner and I spent one night at this hotel. Overall it was a pleasant stay, the hotel was clean, friendly and welcoming. We booked through booking.com and on there it said they took card details to 'reverse' the room however when we arrived I was informed that the money had already been taken from the account which was a...

Stayed at the hotel for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival all the staff were really friendly, and attentive. We had a great room, and our deal included breakfast. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Breakfasts were also good with plenty of choice. A nice relaxing bar area,...

My husband and I stayed at the duke of Edinburgh hotel on Saturday 11th feb check out on the Sunday. The hotel was great, reception staff nice and friendly, own private car park across the road. Our room number 16 on ground floor was split into two. They had used all the space to give what holiday maker needs. Queen...

Stayed here for 1 night, nice looking place from the minute you walk in, reception friendly and as our room was ready at 1.30 we were given the keys to drop off our bags. Hotel is great, rooms where really nice and clean and bathroom was really nice. We did eat here which we would recommend as food was fantastic,...

When we first booked in everything seemed okay, got up to the room and found short curly hairs in the bath. At first I was okay with this as things can be missed, I would of just washed them down the plug hole. But on later inspection found them in the bed and under pillows so the bed had clearly...

Well this is a disappointing review and, I think, a little unfair. We moved you to a new room as soon as you pointed our the problem in your first bedroom. We have exceptionally high housekeeping standards and we acknowledged the first room was not good enough and rectified that immediately. Obviously all the bed linen was new and had...

I stayed at this hotel whilst on business in Barrow and was very pleasantly surprised. i was in room 14 and it was massive; king size bed, plenty of room to spread out in the room with a desk and chair. The bathroom had obviously been refurbished with a stand alone bath and a walk in shower, and very nice...

Been a few years since I've been here. Turned up drenched from the walk from the train station, it rains a lot in Cumbria. Was warmed by the welcome from the smiling, cheery staff. The Duke looks nice from outside, a rather grand Victorian pile of bricks. It's quite fantastic inside. Stayed in room 316, which is quite a walk...

Absolutely could not fault the place. The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, a mixture of modern decor and old rustic. The room was so comfortable, perfect for having a quiet new years eve with a bottle of champagne! Breakfast was fairly standard with a choice of cereal and/or hot food. In a decent area with lots of places...
