Just returned from a fabulous week staying in the Chestnut Lodge. On arrival we were greeted by the owner Liz and her team and directed to our lodge which was lovely. It was clean and fresh, the fridge was on and at a great temperature to receive our transported goodies and everything inside the lodge was very nice...there are even... More

We stayed here recently. When we arrived, the lodge was impeccably clean. Everything you needed for your stay was there. From a cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and all crockery, utensils etc. All we had to supply was our food. The surrounding forest was alive with wildlife, birds, squirrels and ducks. About twenty yards from our veranda, was a well... More

After finding this absolute gem of a destination entirely by accident it can be only said that it should be likend to that of being shipwrecked waking up in a forest paradise.....(I know in Devon right?!) Okay I guess we were lucky with the weather. But in all seriousness we couldn't of been happier. Our welcome was friendly and personal... More

Literally in the middle of nowhere down a dirt track. Not well signposted. An absolute gem and a lovely, welcoming owner. If your looking for a relaxing break where you can listen to the birds sing all day then this is perfect. 👍🏻 The lodge was very well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Don't take a precious... More

Stayed in Hunters Lodge which was on the lakeside. Absolutely beautiful so peaceful, just birds, sheep and fish jumping in the water. Stunning walks around the area. Lodge has everything you could possibly need - very well facilitated and clean. Lovely and cosy as it was still rather chilly. Short drive to supermarket and Bideford. Can't wait to go again!

What a brilliant place for a 'get away from it all' break. We spent three nights in Chestnut lodge with our daughter and her partner. The lodge was spacious, clean and well equipped, the situation was beautiful, nestled in the forest overlooking the lakes, the only sounds were birds and water! The hot tub was fab morning and night, so... More

We stayed in the Larches lodge. After seeing no pictures on here I was worried. But it was fantastic! Didn't find it old fashioned. Really big lodge, well equipped kitchen, TV in every room. 2 double bedrooms and one twin bedroom with ensuite. Hot tub, Comfy beds, spotlessly clean! Couldn't fault it. So peaceful. Just what you need to get... More

Just got back from a long weekend staying in Foxglove cabin. After navigating down the very long narrow lanes we finally arrived at our cabin. I was with my two daughters and ten year old granddaughter. One daughter had stayed here before so that was good recommendation. Inside we were pleased to find the place spotlessly clean and smelling fresh.... More

Lovely clean, massive and well equipped lodge. Beautiful surroundings, can't wait to visit again next year for another relaxing break in the lovely hot tub. Definitely need to be a confident driver using the narrow lanes but we'll worth it.

just got back from half-term week at Bulworthy staying in Otters Holt, one of the two bedroom lodges near the lake. The site was beautiful, so quiet and peaceful and no light pollution, just lovely for a relaxing break. as has been said there is nothing specifically for children to do and the deep water in the lakes means keeping...
