We only had a couple of nights at the Imperial Hotel but it was great, friendly and helpful staff, cosy and warm, even upgraded free of charge, highly recommended for a weekend away, we had a fantastic time.

Comfortable with a customer service you unfortunately do not get anymore. They fulfilled every request with the all important extra little touches that others lack and should try to attain. A birthday card and a decorated pudding with candle put my husband to shame! Thank you so much for such a brilliant stay. Could you come a bit nearer and...

My second stay at The Imperial. This time for three nights with my wife. Purpose to attend a family funeral. The service at the hotel is impeccable in all departments interacting with the guests. We would like to return - next time as part of a holiday and in the summer. The management are to be congratulated on the high...

Having been unwell for a while The Imperial was the perfect hotels for me and I imagine everyone I travelled with in our coach party and age group. Located only a few hundred yards from the very pleasant town of Barnstaple and is ideally situated. We were given a warm welcome on arrival with Tea or coffee. luggage taken to...

We sometimes visit this hotel for lunch when we are in Barnstaple. The service is great, and their food is excellent, tasty and you do not get outsize portions - it all seems in the right proportion. They often have two course deals at lunch which are very good value. The wine list is also pretty good, better than most...

We got great service from the moment we walked through the door to the time we left which included dinner and at breakfast. Hotel looks a bit old fashioned but do not be put off by this. Our room was near a lift and through fare which created a bit of noise but there was more from the heating and...

The hotel is well run, with very friendly staff. Breakfasts are excellent, with a wide selection of high quality food. The rooms are good, with good bathrooms, and free parking. It is in a quiet location by the river, with local walks, and a short walk into town.

If you want to holiday in North Devon the only place to stay in at The Imperial Hotel Barnstaple. All members of Staff are dedicated to their positions providing an enjoyable stay. Food exceptional well presented. Retire to the comfortable lounge area and eventually to a bright and clean bedroom

The place has some undeniable charm, but it's hard to understand how it can continue to exist. It does cater mainly for retired couple couples, but besides the obvious areas like the lobby and the bar it is very faded. Especially the bathrooms and the hallways are in very poor condition. Plus points are fairly nice though old fashioned rooms,...

Nobody does Valentines like Brends Imperial Hotel. Warm welcome, excellent level of service and mouth-watering food and great value for money! We spent a much needed break of three nights dinner, bed and breakfast and left refreshed.
