Very nice hotel, well situated. The room was nice, comfortable bed and decor was good. However the decor / carpets need updating in the corridors. Gym and pool were nice albeit quite small. A steam room would be a good addition. The food and service in the restaurant were excellent and I can certainly recommend the spaghetti bolognaise with garlic...

We stayed here for four nights and found it handy as a base, but the surroundings are not at all scenic - industrial estate and busy roads. Once inside, we found the hotel comfortable and quiet with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was well fitted with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom - most of the hotel seems to...

Hotel was slightly out of town but close enough for a walk. Tidy rooms and all up to date. Nice facilities, including a huge indoor pool. Bar and restaurant clean and tidy - staff attentive and efficient. I will use again on the next visit

The Barnstaple hotel is situated on the edge of an industrial estate so not good if you want to stroll into town. From the outside it looks a little bleak but once inside it all changes. The staff are helpful, the rooms are clean and well equipped and there is a really nice swimming pool and leisure centre. Food is...

The siting and look of the Barnstaple Hotel gives the initial impression "Have I made a mistake with this booking?". However, once inside, the friendly reception staff make you feel welcome. The interior of the hotel belies the stark exterior. The rooms are outside the main building and surround the outdoor swimming pool. Well appointed rooms with facilities for coffee/tea....

Pool needs to have adult only times as a lot of babies and children leaning to swim stopping others using pool. Relaxation room was great but needs more magazines as wet and pages stuck together. Gym was adequate. Bar and restaurant staff were very good and food lovely.

Barnstaple hotel Sunday carvery is very popular but extremely well managed. It is best to book and on arrival you are conducted to your table where drinks orders are taken. You are then free to join a queue to the carvery down the centre of the room. The head of the queue is split to two separate carveries each serving...

We enjoyed a lovely carvery today at The Barnstaple Hotel. Great value for money and a great selection of food to choose from.
