We had visited nearby Saltholme RSPB site and visited the Three Horseshoes for lunch. We had the option to select from the set luncheon menu or visit the a la carte. The variety on each was excellent and in the end we decided on the set luncheon. Foregoing a starter in view of the sight of a choice of Eton...

We are here as a group of 9 recently and it was lovely. We were well looked after and the food was lush. I had the chicken filled with haggis in white wine sauce with chips. It was delicious. Hubs had beef in red wine from the specials menu. All of us had nothing but praise for the food. Majority...

Had never been in this pub until a few Fridays ago but had always liked the look of it when passing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. I had the Cajun chicken, and my wife had the scampi. The portions were a decent size and very tasty. We were both full but the desserts were too tempting! The coffee based...

We pass the Three Horse Shoes frequently on our trips to Durham City and it was a pub we used to visit whilst 'courting' over 40 years ago. Each time, as we pass, we say, we must call in one day. So last week, we finally did, for lunch and we wished we had gone back sooner! The inside had...

Called in for a meal with my son and his wife just on a whim. Having never been in this restaurant for over 10 years, I was very pleasantly surprised. The whole place has been totally renovated and looks quaint and welcoming. The food too was simply amazing.and not too expensive. Will definitely be back.

6 of us called into the pub for Mothers Day meal. Plenty of tables, it was 4:30pm but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The staff are excellent and polite. Our order was taken quickly, when our meals came the Sunday lunch for 2 of us were big, even I struggled to finish it. 2 of our...

The booking was made blind as we had little time to do so. The welcome was excellent, the staff knowledgeable and the food not only well cooked but trencherman portions. The reals ales were well kept and the wines were well chosen and at a good price. Nothing was too difficult for the staff, even to the extent of working...

We called in for a meal simply as we were driving past. The pub was very welcoming. We noticed the meals going to other tables looked on the large side so we didn't bother with starters which was a good decision. I ordered fish and chips and my husband got the slow cooked beef. My fish was beautiful. Served in...
