Attended a wedding in the beginning of August The ceremony in the garden was well organised with music well-timed. The chubby chic settings in the restaurant looked stylish and well organised and presented. Food was tasty and portions were descent. The night ended with hog roast and a buffet which also looked tasty (didn't try any as by that time...

We have visited here twice in the last 6 weeks with our children aged 3 & 5. Bowburn Hall is convenient to us and hearing about the extended garden area with play equipment made it a good choice. The meals we chose were very tasty, both from the old menu and new. The children enjoyed theirs too, although a few...

very decent hotel. Clean rooms, well laid out. Staff were friendly and helpful and the price was very reasonable. Only downside was they had no "snacks" whatsoever in the bar...was working late and missed last orders for food, so ended up hungry, when a packet of crisps or some nuts would have really helped !

We stayed here on Saturday night and were glad we were only staying for one night! The guy on reception was welcoming and he informed us there was a wedding on that night but we were on the 2nd floor so it shouldn't be a problem. Wrong! The music went on till midnight but it was the party revellers that...

My daughter came here for a birthday party and I could not fault the hotel at all. Friendly staff and a fantastic lounge. Outside the gardens are lovely and there is a great wooden play area. Nice to sit in the sunshine with a cold drink. Well worth checking out.

The service is really good, however the dining room is in need of refreshing. Worn carpets, old fashioned fittings and toilets which are clean but outdated. The food is pretty much standard Sunday lunch fare. Some vegetables were overcooked some were ok. There seems to be a mind set that if you pile loads on customers plates they'll be happy....

Until now we have been coming to the Bowburn Hall a few times a year: this was because of the, varied menu and reasonable prices. However our family visit this week will be our last. The "menu" has been revamped with prices going up and food choice and quality going right down. Mu belly pork had limp crackling and thick slimy...

Myself and my husband stayed 1 night on our way back from Scotland. The hotel was once a private home and is a very lovely old building. The gardens are beautiful; lots of space to sit and for children to play. There's a rather odd wooden gorilla in the garden, but he doesn't spoil the view! Our room was small...

We really enjoyed our stay at Bowburn Hall. The staff were excellent, very accommodating and friendly. Even delivered a glass of hot milk to the room at a very late hour. We thought the food was excellent value for money. The hotel itself was very comfortable. The bed, the room, even the dinning chairs all just very comfortable and we...
