Having read all the rave reviews about the Victoria Inn, we were looking forward to our trip to Durham. Went out to the lovely Tapas bar across the road and came back on the Friday evening to taste some good quality ales. The following day we went for a walk into the town which is close by to do our...

From the moment we arrived I knew that this was a special inn . Big fires in all three bar areas , great choice of beers and very friendly service . Added to that the great location - highly recommended !

We've been staying at the Vic for over 25 years and just love the place. If you enjoy comfortable surroundings, good ales or whiskies, a pub where you can chat with either your friends or the locals, friendly bar staff anda great breakfast- then this is the place for you. No music blaring out, no TV to distract, a great...

We stayed for two nights during a weekend trip to Durham. It's a lovely little pub, walking distance from the station and centre of town. We thought it might be noisy because of the students but it was completely quiet in our room! We had a great room with views across Durham. The room was clean with everything you needed....

Fascinating pub with good choice of drinks in the 'victorian' unmodernised and lovely bar. Very tasteful rooms in what appears to be an uninspiring building. Very friendly staff. 'homely dining room' for breakfast. Convenient location for Cathedral and town. Limited parking.

We wanted to stay in Durham for 4 days, explore the city & nearby attractions, but we wanted to leave the car safe & walk or use public transport. Most large hotels in Durham city have no parking & you have to use an expensive & risky public carpark nearby, so we were delighted to find the Victoria had a...

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Durham, it's in a quiet location but just walk to the end of the street & the you are in the city centre and close to the beautiful cathedral. We have stayed here a number of times now. The rooms are just lovely, clean, nice decor & really comfortable. I read a...

Another lovely stay. Warm welcome, immaculately clean room, beautiful bathroom and the comfiest bed with gorgeous snuggly bedding. Breakfast fab too. The bar is a little gem of traditional fixtures and cosy corners and very friendly. Passing students a bit noisy but earplugs can sort that and it was a Freshers weekend. This place is a gem and I will...

Myself and the Mrs stayed 3 nights in September. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and well cooked. We were made very welcome by the owner and staff, as well as the locals when we ventured into the bar on a couple of evenings. Those who appreciate good real ale and sitting near a cosy...
