We tend to only go for 'special occasion' meals, Christmas Eve meals or birthdays. The selection from the specials board are exceptional, we have tried quite a few, and never had any reason to complain. The service is always good and staff are always pleasant. Parking can sometimes be awkward especially if there's inclement weather.

Lovely Sunday lunch at a reasonable price - couldn't ask for more really. Portion size was more than enough, and very tasty. Two large pieces of chicken and one huge crispy Yorkshire pud and plenty of veg with additional gravy. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was busy as expected around 1pm but still managed to find a...

We stayed 5 nights in a newly refurbished room which was kept spotlessly clean. The shower was wonderful! The bar/restaurant area was so relaxing. Even though there were a lot of tables you never felt it was crowded because of all the different eating areas. Food was excellent. So much variety, good quality and ample portions. In fact we never...

Came here for lunch with my wife after reading good reviews on TripAdvisor. Quite a large pub with plenty of seating. Food was great and staff were friendly. Only downside was no menus, only for children's dishes and bar snacks. The starters and main courses that were available were on large chalkboards near the bar area but what's on the...

Visited the mill Thursday night before New Year's Eve for a family meal eight of us. Excellent food and service definitely on my favourites list now. Decent portions and good value for money. The sticky toffee pudding to die for yummy.

Went to The Old Mill as it has been recommended a few times and what a lovely pub with smart pleasant staff. The starters were all ok but can't understand the garlic mushrooms being served on rice? Not enjoyable. However, we all had from the grill and everything was cooked exactly as we'd asked for it and the quality of...

Originally I'm from County Durham, the best county in the U.K., but I've never been to the Old Mill. I was missing out, it's brilliant. The set up is very traditional English pub/restaurant with a central bar and rooms coming off. The staff are very friendly, in keeping with the area, and extremely helpful. They appear to genuinely want you...
