My husband and i were invited to attend a civil wedding reception here, we both agreed that it felt like a big conveyor belt, the service was good but had no emotion or feeling, it was like this was the hundreth wedding we have done this year, just a few more and then we are done. The wedding breakfast buffet...

This should be a minimum 4 star rating, pushing a 5 - and there's one main reason why it only got a three - meet Lurch! A surlier character would be hard to find? - and worse still, he seemed to be on every shift? He was on the bar when we came in late (just after 11pm) and seemed...

The hotel is very pleasant - all the usual amenities. Would definitely recommend it. The best part was waking up in the morning and looking at view from my room the it was fantastic! This hotel is on the seafront and closed to the centre of Douglas (but then on this island everything is).

I stayed here for one night on business, whilst on the Isle of Man and the weather was horrendous. However after getting to the main reception/bar area you wouldn't have know, literally in this case a very warm welcome! The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable, I had a double bed and took all the pillows, which still seemed low....

My second trip to this hotel - and I'm so glad I went back. The atmosphere is really relaxed, and all the staff are helpful and courteous. There's live piano music there every night to add a touch of sophistication! Special mention must go to Lukasz behind the bar who runs the place with a high degree of professionalism and...

I stayed in this hotel a few weeks ago and had a few problems which turned out to be due to a trainee who hadn't quite got the hang of customer service! On my return today, I have to say that they could not have done more to make amends. For a start, they had obviously made a note that...

This was our first time staying in the Empress Hotel and we were well impressed. The reception area is welcoming, spacious and very clean. Our room was clean, comfortable and well serviced on a daily basis. I am not a fan of a buffet type breakfast but I have to say the buffet breakfast here was outstanding. All the food...

Recently returned from another visit to the Empress and were not disappointed as it was as good as ever. Despite being busy, the Rooms, Food and Service were of their usual high standard, particularly the Bar which is run by Lukasz who is the star and main face of the hotel. Special thanks to him and well done to all...
