The hotel is very well located on the central promenade near bus stops, shops and restaurants. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and the breakfast is exceptional full fry up or croissants, cereal, fruit I am glad we booked the breakfast when booking our room as I don't think we would have got a better...

Hi, I spent three nights in the hotel in February. As in the title, it's good hotel and friendly staff. I didn't use the hotel's gym and didn't use its restaurants for dinners so no say about those. However must say they serve very testy English breakfasts. In my room it was very comfortable mattress in bed and quite good...

Heard good reviews to stay here but in my opinion it was not too good. The rooms decor didn't match, the trouser press didn't work, the gym equipment didn't work neither did the steam room. Oh & twice when still in bed before we got up for breakfast the cleaners were in the room. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! 3 hrs before check...

We were greeted by a very pleasant young man on Reception who explained the hotel facilities to us. We had a problem as our suitcase had failed to arrive at the airport and was hopefully to be delivered later that evening. He assured us that if it did we would receive a call from the hotel. Our room (The Penthouse)...

My second stay at this hotel. Really nice place, good food, and very nice staff. Rooms are OK, probably best to go for premium seafront facing rooms for the view, restaurant and bar area is very good, breakfast is more than acceptable. LCD TV in room is quite dated now, no HDMI port, though had a DVI-I port (no VGA)....

We were tempted back to the Empress with a good B & B deal over 3 days . As per our last visit we were made very welcome by the staff , a nice touch was to have our allocated room changed at the last minute due to possible noise from a party downstairs , we were given room 359...

Great location right on the Promenade. Close to shopping and Ferry terminal. The Empress offers a great range of rooms to suit different space requirements and budgets. Since I was visiting family and was going to spend much of my time outside the hotel, I chose a smaller room with no view. It was however well equipped with television, kettle,...

We would stay here again. Central location and great staff - breakfast best in this type of hotel. No complaints - just perfect. Not sure why you would look further quite frankly - we stayed 2 nights between Xmas and new year, two rooms.

We paid an extra £10 per night to get a sea view room and it was definitely worth it as not only did we have a bigger room, bigger bed, bigger TV with more channels on TV and a sea view that was outstanding. Well worth it. We visited in OCtober and I can only say that as this was...
