We wanted a week in the Isle of Man in a good hotel, and selected the Claremont. We were not disappointed.
The hotel is on the promenade in Douglas, skilfully converted from a number of large Victorian properties. It is a short walk from the...More

Enjoyed a five night break on the island, meals were very good , room was clean and well equipped for our stay , only downside were staff forgot our order for pre meal drinks which was a downer on last night.
I recently stayed here for one night after arriving on a late ferry from Liverpool. The property was very clean and welcoming with free WiFi on arrival at the hotel.
The breakfast was very good and it was self-service there was plenty of choice.
This is our second stay at this hotel. It is right on the promenade and a very short walk to the ferry terminal.
Check in was easy and hassle free.
The rooms have , hairdryer, fan, safe, iron and ironing board. Tea/coffee and biscuits.
Stayed five nights as part of a Great Rail Journey's trip. The Claremont is a modern hotel slotted behind its Victorian facings and we found the service first class and the room very comfortable. We had upgraded to a superior room with sea view (see...More

The Claremont will give you a parking disk. You can then park on the street for free displaying this disk. However, you must move your car every 2 hours (or 3, I can't remember). You can't just go out & change the time on the disk, you have to physically move your car to a new spot. After a certain time (8pm, I believe), you don't have to move it til the next morning. But it is a nuisance. There is no other parking, however. There is a no disk zone, but it is a few blocks away.
