Steve, the proprietor, was very welcoming and obliging. Room comfortable and lovely and warm on a very cold day and night. Breakfast very good too and we would stay again. Derbyshire Arms only 2.7 miles to Ulverston where the surprise party was so very convenient for us.Lol hi by

Great room number 4 in Stable block, nice breakfast, the landlord even gave us a lift to fetch our car the next morning, lovely northern charm. Definitely stay again when next in the area. Ulcers ton is a lovely spot often missed when travelling to Lakes, give it a try

Booked a three night stay and couldn't have made a better choice. Steve is certainly a brilliant "mine host" The room was cosy and absolutely spotless. Comfortable bed and super soft pillows ... bliss. Super breakfast too. Great locals bar, friendly locals and Ann behind the bar made us really welcome. As the Derby Arms doesn't do evening meals Steve...

We were looking for comfortable accomodation near to Lake Windermere and certainly found it here. The room, although a little small; offered everything we needed. Outside noise, if any; never bothered us. The breakfast was indeed everything we could have hoped for and served at a reasonable hour. The ale served in the bar was a welcome change. Prices were...

Stayed for 2x long weekends whilst in the lakes both time we were blown away by The service, rooms and breakfast offered by this little gem. Unlike many pub b&b's this accommodation is outside the pub in a converted stable block which is both to a good standard and has everything you need. The owner goes out of their way...

Came across Great Urswick by accident when exploring south Lakeland. Pretty village with a tarn and access for fishing. Interesting Saxon/Medieval Church. Called at the Derby Arms for a pint. This is a well run pub with friendly landlord. Very clean with good selection of real ales. I recommend Robinson's 'Dizzy Blonde'

Another wonderful stay with the family at the Derby Arms c/o Steve and Sally. This time on a baking hot weekend in June. Standards haven't slipped in any way since our visit last year, right down to Steve remembering the veggie sausages for my breakfast ! Ten out ten for everything, thanks very much .

Wonderfully warm welcome, cozy and hospitable feel, instantly felt at home. Accommodation and breakfast excellent with high standard of facilities at a very reasonable rate. Ample parking, lots of advice about the area and forever grateful for the lift back in to town! Many thanks and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Be back soon as a regular visitor.
