For a couple who appreciate the finer things in life, our first visit to Scotland was enhanced beyond all expectations by our 4 night stay at Ivybank Lodge and we cannot thank enough the owners and hosts, Gary and Nigel for their wonderful hospitality.

This Victorian villa, has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout with an eye for and attention to detail complementing the grandeur of the building. Our room was very comfortable as was the king size bed with quality linen which was very welcome after a long day sightseeing. Unexpected extras included a Nespresso coffee machine and complimentary bottled water replaced daily which were nice touches The en-suite shower room was spacious with a huge walk-in shower and complimentary toiletries. I have to mention what must be the largest and softest towels I have come across which when you are a 6 ft 5, 22 stone man, are just what is needed.

I certainly like my food and breakfast at the Ivybank Lodge is one of the best with a good selection from which to to choose and cooked to perfection by the chef (aka Nigel) using the finest ingredients and certainly set us up for the day.

If you want a comfortable home from home and a great base from which to explore the wonderful sights and scenery of Scotland, you should seriously consider staying here and I recommend you book early. We will be back that's for sure and can't wait. Thank you G & G xx

Gary was a very welcoming host, attentive and non invasive. We stayed in Room 5 superior king room. Wow we were blown away by the decor, cleanliness and attention to detail.
On entering the room you could smell the fabric softener of the robes hanging on the door, and a room diffuser on the fire mantel that smelt sublime.
The bathroom was a good size, and immaculate. Small details of makeup remover cloth, and a vanity set. Gorgeous toiletries. Towels pristine and white.
The bedroom was adequate for our needs, the bed was extremely comfortable, gorgeous sumptuous pillows, and the bedding was beautiful.
Nespresso coffee machine and pods are great and tunnocks tea cake and caramel logs biscuits. The signature Ivybank chocolate was lush.
Wooden hangers in the wardrobe, and plenty hanging space, slippers and hairdryer.
Glasses and sparkling water provided also..
Gary snd Nigel have honestly thought if everything, my only gripe would be the WiFi wasn’t great, but to me it wasn’t a major issue.
The dining room is just beautiful and again the decor is just gorgeous with soft classical music playing in background.
We had full breakfast which was first class, piping hot well presented and delicious, 2 eggs for the amount would have been ideal. Table linen was pristine and white. The lodge location is ideal for the town centre. The outside and garden is just so quaint and well presented. A lovely little nook. We will most definitely stay again and would rather help out businesses like Gary and Nigel’s than big hotels. Look forward to staying again.

Had a great two night stay here recently.
The small hotel is an old stone built lodge house situated about 100 yards from the town centre . The town and surrounding area is very picturesque.
Our room and the communal lounges and dining room are decorated impeccably.
The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen and the en-suite shower room again is done to a very high standard.
The food at breakfast and at dinner was first class and beautifully presented, better than any restaurants I have been to in the last few years.
The dinner menu is concise but is the better for this as the attention to detail is very apparent.
One of the best places we’ve stayed and reasonably priced.

As soon as we entered Ivybank Lodge we knew this was somewhere special.

Ivybank lodge exudes style, with quality and excellence.
From our room to the dining area, the decor is of an immaculate and relaxed experience with pictures by Matylda Konecka to delight.
Within our spotless room was a welcome pack full of information & advice, someone had obviously spent a lot of time & effort to collate it so do take time to read it.
A perfectly cooked breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated as we had a long ride ahead of us (once we had wheeled our motorcycle out of their garage, thanks).
A huge thank you to our hosts, Nigel & Gary for a wonderful stay,
Ivybank lodge is a credit to you both.

We will stay again.... Of Course

My walking buddy and I stayed here, sadly only for one night, at the end of walking the Cateran Trail.

Ivybank Lodge is a beautiful Victorian villa close to the centre of Blairgowrie and only a few steps from the nearby Littles restaurant. Gary and Nigel kindly allowed us to park our car on their drive for the week we were walking, which was great.

When we finally got there to stay it was clear right away that a great job had been done in furnishing and designing all the rooms and other interior areas. I was fortunate to be the very first guest in their newly refurbished superior room with superkingsize bed. And fabulous it was too. The room was, of course, spotless and all the finishes, soft furnishings, curtains and carpets were tasteful and top quality. All the facilities you might require were present too. After walking 60 miles in five days, I slept like a log in the big bed!

Breakfast was great too - as well as the usual variations on "full Scottish" there were a few unusual things on the menu. I can't remember what I had now but it was very good.

There's also a lovely garden.

All in all, a really good, comfortable and welcoming place to stay - I'm only sorry we were only there one night. Recommended and I hope to return before too long.

Ivybank Lodge ticks all the boxes of our very fussy little family (2 adults and our 11 year old son). Centrally located, own parking, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, breakfast is delicious and hosts Gary and Nigel are the kindest most welcoming hosts you could meet. It's the nicest B&B we have been to and absolutely 5 stars plus!

Wow….our first visit to this exceptional establishment and certainly not our last. Infact, we’ve already booked a return visit! This haven of quality is the perfect antidote to disconnect from modern life. Undoubtedly, Ivybank Lodge, will be our new go to place just to chill and be pampered. The wonderful owner’s, Gary & Nigel, are awesome and are caring, warm and genuinely welcoming hosts. Gary does a superb job front of house and Nigel is simply terrific in the kitchen. Our breakfasts and evening meals on our weekend visit were absolutely delicious from varied & tempting menu choices. Both Gary & Nigel have such a great eye and attention to detail. Honestly, their highly professional, but unobtrusive charm, was simply excellent & highly impressive. The ambience of Ivybank Lodge is of a lovely bespoke, small boutique hotel, where the guest matters. A pre or post dinner drink in either of the two beautifully decorated lounges with some relaxing music playing was blissful for us. The lodge is licensed and offer’s an extensive array of wines, beers, spirits & liqueurs. Likewise, there is a very comprehensive wine list to accompany your evening meal. The six bedroom lodge has incredible interior decoration and is Uber clean with every amenity you may require during your stay. Ivybank Lodge is centrally located for Blairgowrie itself or touring the local area and ski slopes. We enjoyed some of our best sleeps in a long time thanks to the beautifully comfortable mattress along with the high quality pillows and crisp fresh bed linen. Honestly, like the rest of this awesome establishment the bedrooms are simply sumptuous. Bathrooms are equally well equipped with quality branded soaps, toiletries and lovely showers or bath depending on room category. The first class rooms also are equipped with tea & coffee making facilities and a selection of Tunnocks treats with various tea & coffee options too. Each room has beautiful branded bathrobes to relax in too within the room. Seriously, it’s totally understandable why Ivybank Lodge is an award winning establishment. We both loved it and can’t wait to return and that’ll be very soon. Huge thanks to the lovely Gary & Nigel for their warm hospitality, sightseeing tips & restaurant recommendations. Also, 10/10 to Nigel for his wonderful cooking at both breakfast & dinner. Well done to Gary for his friendly & professional service too in the dining room & lounge. We both loved our chats with Gary & Nigel. Overall, an outstanding lodge with customer focused owners & hosts. First Class and highly recommended. Ivybank Lodge excels in Blairgowrie.

We stayed just one night when visiting to play Blairgowrie’s two excellent golf courses over a weekend. Ivybank Lodge was perfect. A really good location, just two minutes across the river from the pub and curry house. The accommodation is very nicely furnished, the cooked breakfast was delicious and the owners were extremely friendly and attentive. They also put in place sensible measures to safeguard the health of their guests, which enabled them to remain open during the latest phase of covid restrictions. Overall, I would highly recommend Ivybank Lodge and I hope to return if visiting Blairgowrie again.

This is my third review of this beautiful lodge.
Every time we visit the owners, Nigel and Gary, have been spending the little free time they have on making the house look even more gorgeous.
The attention to detail is flawless.
They are also two of the nicest guys I’ve ever met, who always go out of their way to make your visit as special as possible.
The breakfast menu has been added to, they have all the favourites with some modern and delicious additions to tempt you.
It’s a very short walk into the town of Blairgowrie, where they have lovely little shops filled with locally made treats. There are bars and restaurants.
When you’re done with the sightseeing you can have a wee dram back at the Lodge in their cosy drawing room.
I don’t know why you’d stay anywhere else!

We were met by one of the owners on arrival and checked in and given local info. We were at the top of the house which was nicely aired and quiet. The room had been renovated to a very high standard and was spacious with a hanging cupboard for storage. Breakfasts had a wide choice of traditional and innovative fare. We booked dinner on our second night, all the dishes were very good and the spicy prawn starter was exceptional. Service was attentive at all times. The Lodge has been granted a license and has a good wine list and a selection of local beers.
