Lovely place in nice weather and lovely coast walks and boat trips out to sea round the coast I'd go back, and it's near to lots of other nice places like the valley of the rocks and other sea side places, good food at the hotel & lots of fresh seafood places to eat out as well,

We stayed here this weekend on a Shearings weekend break. The hotel is a very tired. We stayed in room 313 on the third floor. There was even stairs in our room. The room was basic but very clean. There is a lift there but only hold four people, so you either had to wait or climb the stairs, of which...

This was a three night stay as part of a package deal comprising bed, breakfast & evening meal. First impressions were good. Although in need of a little external decorative refreshment, nothing of great significance. Located perfectly within yards of all the delights that this town has to offer. Upon arrival, reception staff couldn't have been more welcoming, and it...

We had an upgraded room which had just been refurbished, it was large and the bedding was good, all very clean. Towels small and thin. Breakfast was good, if you could get any food, most mornings at 8-30 (breakfast stopped at 9am) they had run out and we had to wait quite some time before more was brought out, even...

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comments. Your feedback is very important and will help us to improve our standards. As you said, breakfast is a very busy time, especially during the first hour and sometimes is difficult for the staff to keep up; however, they all do a great job and breakfast buffet gets...

We spent the Easter Weekend at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room at the front of the hotel was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Food and service were excellent with good entertainment laid on each evening. Staff were always friendly and very helpful. Evening meal was in three sittings which worked well and the only...

I was pleasantly pleased with this hotel, compared to Shearings hotels I had stayed at before - Are they upping their game? We had a lovely room, although we did pay to upgrade. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely view, and nice chairs and table in the window. The beds were comfortable, and rooms were cleaned...

This hotel is really nice. Our room was on the 4th floor, the lift only goes up to the 3rd so you have to climb the last flight. Not a problem for us as we used the stairs anyway for the exercise but if you can't manage the stairs ask for a lower floor. They have young lads to carry...

A warm welcome and efficient check-in greeted our National Holidays coach. My room (217) had an unusual layout with the shower cubicle in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, but the water pressure was good and there was plenty of hot water. The room had all the usual facilities, hair dryer, tea & coffee, flatscreen TV with Freeview channels. The...

We came here on a coach trip Monday to Friday. Our room was at the front of the Hotel - very large with 3 windows overlooking the park opposite. Apparently some of the rooms have been refurbished but not ours and it could do with everything updating, but for the price we paid we are not grumbling. Meals were just...

We had a short break here 3-7 April 2017 and had a lovely time. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the level seafront of this hugely popular Victorian seaside resort stands the welcoming Dilkhusa Grand Hotel. The hotel was originally a private house, bought by a Raj at the turn of the last century as a gift to his wife - Dilkhusa translates from Hindustani roughly as ‘House of the Happy Heart!’ The hotel overlooks the picturesque Runnymede gardens and is close to the Landmark theatre which attracts many national acts. It is also just a short walk from the bustling 10th-century harbour where Britain’s most famous living artist, Damien Hirst, owns a restaurant. The Dilkhusa has a well-appointed restaurant combining excellent hospitality and service. A spacious and comfortable entertainments suite provides the ideal setting in which to sit back and enjoy the acts at this friendly and sociable hotel. ... more   less
