Just returned home from the Grosvenor hotel,as it states in the title of my review the staff are very friendly and helpful, however the hotel itself is in desperate need of updating! My partner and I were staying at this hotel for his choir weekend, bearing in mind that most of the choir members are sixty plus!!,a lot of them struggled with...

ignore the negative reviews! I stayed here and will be going back again . Lovely location. Big Victorian hotel with grand ballroom and spacious reception rooms to relax and watch the entertainment. Friendly staff who make you feel so welcome . Clean rooms. Fun entertainment. Great food. A fabulous family run hotel

My partner and I first visited this hotel in 2010 and as part of a coach party of over 55s we paid another visit last week. After we had booked this holiday I read some of the reviews on here and to say I was apprehensive was an understatement, however we decided to press on with our booking. I am...

We booked through NCrowd for a two night stay at the Grosvenor, Ilfracombe and barely managed to stay one night. The whole place looks neglected inside and out, dingy and outdated, a rabbit warren of narrow corridors with the most unhelpful and rude staff I have ever met. The "white" towels were grey, the bathroom lino was spongy and uneven,...

I used a 'Groupon' to stay at this hotel, so paid £80 for two people, for two nights bed and breakfast, and an evening meal on the first night. The room itself was adequate (clean if a bit shabby), the staff were friendly and helpful (but didn't hurry to do things), and the breakfasts were actually pretty good (full English,...

Well we went on a deal so expected a very basic room and an okay breakfast but we don't feel that we even got that. The bed was the second most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in - hard and lumpy. The breakfast situation was bizarre, we were asked if we had been there for dinner and when we...

If I had believed everything I had read about this hotel I would never have booked it, but I can assure you some of the poor reviews are a touch harsh. I found my room to be clean and the staff helpful , the breakfast wasn't massive but was enough. Can't vouch for dinner we never had that. I would...

Nice enough stay but I'm glad it was a deal. It would have been a disappointment at full price. Guest info booklet in room gives details of using the 'phone - there wasn't one! Hotel website says hairdryers provided in superior rooms so we packed one - there was one in our standard room! Standard room very small with poor...
