Although I didn't stay overnight (I hired a function room for a valuation event) it was clear from the outset that the POW hotel in Southport was once a great establishment that was now showing its age. But in a good way. The exterior put me in mind of Sunshine Desserts, the wo

This hotel has got to be the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in, we stayed there for the air show in the summer, when we got to our room the heat was unbearable and the window only opened about 2 inches. We asked reception for a fan but they didn’t have one, our only hope was that

I worked at the Prince of Wales in the 1980s and although a beautiful building it now requires a huge amount of money spending on the place. Reception fabulous , room, tired, very clean. Central location.

Once again we decided to stay at the Prince of Wales as part of the Southport Royal Signals annual Christmas dinner. We stayed in our usual room on the lower ground floor. Whilst these rooms don't have a view of Lord Street, we don't mind as we live locally. We like the rooms as

Latest headlines about your hotel..Over forty holidaymakers have been struck down with food poisoning at The Prince of Wales. Two coach loads of tourists who have come to Southport for a mini break have had their holidays cut short after dining out on a bacteria infested meal at the Britannia owned Lord Street hotel. An unnamed guest spoke to OTS News earlier saying: “We feel horrendous and not one of us got lucky enough to avoid the poisoning.” “We’ve had to cut short our holiday and go home because there’s no way we can enjoy ourselves trapped in horrid little hotel rooms being violently ill.” OTS attempted to contact Britannia Hotels but was met with a wall of silence.
Had no complaints, food was excellent and well cooked would go back again
