Travelodge Gatwick Airport Central is hailed for its value, offering affordable accommodations and meals, with some guests noting extra charges for services like parking and WiFi. The staff receives accolades for their commendable service, despite occasional hiccups. However, noise levels from both inside and outside the hotel often trouble guests. Its prime location near the airport is a highlight, though shuttle costs can be steep. While the atmosphere and amenities are deemed adequate by many, the need for room updates and better maintenance is a recurring theme in guest feedback.

I had an early flight to Barbados so decided to book a room for the night at the Travelodge, Gatwick.

Upon arrival at LGW took lift up to next floor. Where MoneyCorp bureau turn left & take travelator. At end turn right & take lift down to Bus/Coach. Exit lift & turn left. Go to bus stop 9. Take G1/G7 to Travelodge. Cost of bus £4 & you must have cash. Buses run approx every 20 mins. V quick check-in & given room 46 on g/floor. Room excellent value. large bed, Egyptian cotton duvet, plump pillows, wall mounted TV, tea/coffee/milk, table, chairs. Bathroom has shower, towels, hand/bodywash gels. You must keep door shut whilst showering otherwise risk of fire alarm going off

In Bar/Coffee area they do meal deal for £14 consisting of main & dessert. Light breakfast served between 4am - 6am for £4.95 otherwise 6am - 10am eat as much as you like £9.25 including Lavassa coffee or on it's own £1.90. Excellent selection of croissant, toast, f/f salad, yogurts, cereal, juices, Heinz beans, McCains hash browns, L McCartney veg sausage, fresh Tom's, bacon, mushrooms, scrambled egg. All cooked to perfection. No grease!

I have used Travelodge everytime I need to stay for a night and it offers excellent vfm, staff attentive and would highly recommend.

After booking a stay for nearly a week, a month in advance and paying for a super room, only on Xmas day, the day after arriving was I informed by reception there would be no housekeeping for "more than one night stayers" over Xmas. Allegedly it was to give the house keeping team Xmas off....? What in an Airport hotel? But some house keeping did work, (they told me on 3 times normal pay) to clean the rooms of the guests that stayed only one night. Absolutely ridiculous! What business punishes its loyal customers first. Very poor management decision. Consequently the corridors and lifts were full of discarded rubbish, food and so on for nearly 3 days, disgusting. Why did they not advise this when I was booking, or before arrival and I then would changed my booking and stayed in a proper hotel elsewhere. If you like cheap, then you will probably enjoy, but if you want to be treated as a customer, not an animal and with respect, I would go elsewhere.

For an overnight stay for connecting flight, it is far cheaper to stay here than the hotels connected directly to the terminals and still very close. If you pre-order a taxi, it costs £10 and you get to the hotel in 5 minutes, and the bus stops directly outside the entrance too. The hotel is a quarter of the price you would pay if you stayed in the terminal hotels. The rooms and beds are comfortable and the only drawback is that free wifi is only available for a short period of time.

I paid under £30 for a single room. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed, good shower, WiFi and tv worked well, bus to Gatwick airport costs £4 and runs every 15 mins. Excellent place to stay if you have an early morning departure from Gatwick airport.

The improvement at this Travelodge has been notable over the last few months as a regular resident I have observed higher standards throughout the hotel which has been welcomed by me and I am sure by the other guests staying at this large Travelodge close to Gatwick Airport.

One of the major upturns in recent times that I have witnessed is the much-enhanced customer service from the front of house team; a special mention to Sam here who is a real credit to the lodge in providing excellent service and going that extra mile to ensure that guests are content with their stay at the lodge.

The cleanliness of the rooms is also superior to in previous periods yet the issues with the air conditioning/heating remain, however, I am ensured that this is being attended to.

The eat as much as you like breakfast is very good, worth what you pay, the ingredients are of high quality and cooked very well; the staff on hand making sure that all is well, clean and the buffet well stocked.

The bar is pricey; I cannot comment on the dinner menu as I have never tried it.

The lodge has parking however it is limited to first come first served; the local buses linking the airport and the local towns of Horley, Crawley and Redhill depart from the road at the end of the lodge driveway; there is a small convenience store attached to a petrol garage a two minutes’ walk from the entrance of the lodge.

The value for money that this airport Travelodge provides is excellent and a good reason to stay prior or after a flight or when on business in the area.

Having previously been critical of this lodge; it now deserves your consideration as the place to stay near to Gatwick Airport; I can now highly recommend this Travelodge Plus.

Hotel is just 5 min taxi ride from the North Terminal ( 6 pounds), exceptionally clean and really good value (30 pound for a double room). On the way back I used the shuttle (4 pounds) and it took around 10 min at 7AM to reach the South Terminal. Shuttle is running every 15 min 24/7. Hotel also offers all you can eat breakfast for 10 pounds running from 6AM to 11AM. Kids eat free with one paying adult.

Not impressed at all not all staff wearing masks in public spaces! Signage not clear. Single door for in out of reception, When they could have easy one way system! Lacking in hand sanitizer Yes they do have in reception and on ground floor outside lift only! Other hotels I have noticed hand gel available at every touch points like doors and stairs not hear. Smell of smoking in hotel. Had refit nice in the rooms but no dry covered area outside or seating for smokers suppose that's why the smoke inside

As normal now the rooms are really good but do lack a few nice touches.......heating that actually worked for more than 15 minutes would be really good, I complained so many times it’s ridiculous. The room heats up then it goes cold so you have to turn on again, it’s a repetitive and not conducive to a good nights sleep. The breakfasts are truly horrible, £9.99 for cold food, the hash brown, sausages and scrambled eggs are tasteless, over cooked and hard......you could use to break windows. The bacon floppy tasteless. Oh my god the fruit juices, these taste like coloured water. There is nothing good about breakfast, it was a really an embarrassment as we had invited family to join us. We love Travelodge for the good value rooms but just because we like “cheap” rooms doesn’t mean we like “cheap” food. Travelodge could easily up the game on the food side, buy some ovens for a start, even a hot plate and a few fryers. Employ someone that cooks too. When we stayed the place was understaffed terribly, inexperienced bar staff too.
Would only visit again for room, never for food or bar.

We looked for a reasonable hotel ( me my wife and daughter) to stay overnight near Gatwick airport as we had an early flight in the morning so I searched on variouse sites on the web to shop around. Not only was Gatwick Central Travelodge the best deal but it is literaly 5 mins drive to the terminal. We didn't drive on this occasion but long and short time parking is available on site at a good price. There is a regular bus transfer 24/7 but the 3 of us used a taxi which only cost £6 cheaper than our combined bus fares! The staff at the lodge are available at all times and are very helpful. The lodge has just had a million pound upgrade and the rooms are large comfortable and the beds are king size and a good nights sleep is guaranteed, and tea making facilities are in every room. They have a restaurant with a good choise of meals and a bar which again is reasonably priced. For us this was a great way to start our holiday. I would definately use Gatwick Central Travelodge again.

I was just reading some reviews. It’s £18 for a taxi. £4.50 on the Hoppa bus from stand 8. You get both at the door and get dropped at the door. The bus runs 24/7 every 20 minutes.
