Great place and staff were helpful and assisted whenever possible,. Rooms are very clean and tidy food and drink were at a high standard and value for money,. Will definitely be going back again soon,. A+++
We attended the wedding of our daughter and son in law. Part of our small wedding attendees stayed for 4 nights and the rest stayed for 2 nights. The room requesters were all met and did not disappoint. All our refurbished rooms were lovely. We, as a party had different room requests, upper level superior with views, ground floor with disabled access or interconnecting. All our rooms nicely decorated, fresh and very clean. We certainly recommend staying. The staff were exceptional and went out of their way to have needs better and make our stay memorable
Have travelled from Portsmouth for this family NY do 4 years out of the last 6 but this one partly due to covid restrictions was probably the worst I have attended Holel rooms were great but the dinner and breakfast were disappointing and as table numbers and no dancing meant our group of 11 had to be split up. One of the 3 bottles of red wine listed on wine list and the one we wanted only had one in stock so had to pay for a different and dearer red. Due to the covid restrictions we were informed we would on arrival be given a £20 a head refund which we could then spend on drink etc this didn't happen and we had to chase the refund a few days after the event. We have had some good New year celebrations here before but this one did not meet previous expectations
Everything about this historic hotel is pleasing and certainly lived up to expectations. Its well appointed rooms create a relaxing ambiance. Its elevated position, , with far reaching views create the illusion of being in deep countryside, and yet easily accessible . The staff are friendly but professional, the food was well prepared and excellent all round. Thank you for a most pleasant anniversary stay.
We booked a superior room as did our friends. The rooms are immaculate and the staff very helpful. The setting is beautiful. Unfortunately there were restrictions in place in Wales which meant it was generally a bit flat and lacking in atmosphere. However the food was good quality and again the staff were helpful. Because there were 8 of us we made the most of it. Would definitely return.
