We stayed overnight before taking the steam train to Whitby. The hotel is conveniently place in the centre of town but with plenty of on-site parking. The staff are friendly, relaxed and well trained. Rooms were clean, simply but tastefully decorated and with plenty of space. We ate in the bar/restaurant which had a good selection of dishes and our...

Bar area was spacious and the food menu along with specials offered something for everyone. Had a cycle ride at Dalby Forest and stayed over night in The Black Swan. First time stayed here. Room was very nice, recently decorated....only downside (which isn't a big thing) is that the mirror isn't near the electric socket so drying hair and straightening it was slightly awkward. The room was lovely, bathroom a nice size (room 2); we...

Excellent pub, great choice of well kept ales. Some of which are brewed on site. Friendly staff with good knowledge of the beers. Great atmosphere and very accommodating to our child...excellent changing facilities. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat, but it looked excellent.

I have stayed at the Black Swan on several occasions and would highly recommend for business or pleasure. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Parking is available off the main road. Rooms are well equipped to a good standard. Food and drink are excellent value for money. Especially worth trying are the guest ales !!

Room was very clean and comfortable. Was a little chilly when we arrived, but the radiator was large and had a thermostat, so we just knocked it up a touch. We were surprised that there was no TV, but in reality, we didn't miss it. Downstairs the bar was lively with great range of guest ales and live music -...

My wife and I stayed at The Black Swan for one night so that we could see the Flying Scotsman on one of its runs from Grosmont to Pickering. The Hotel was great. A little trouble parking because of a large Funeral party in the Dining Room on our arrival mid-afternoon, so had to encroach very slightly on the 'Private...

Two nights bed and breakfast, lunch and evening meal? Too right! The en suite room was comfortable, clean, well appointed, and quiet. Breakfast, lunch and evening meal were excellent, with not only good food on offer, but a wide range from which to choose. Would we stay there again? Most definitely.
