Had a very comfortable evenings accommodation whilst doing the C2C walk. A family run guest house offering very clean and well equipped rooms. Super breakfast and even a taxi service (included in the price) back to the Lion Inn to restart our walk. Very pleased.

This is a wonderful place to stay on the coast to coast walk. Mike will pick you up from the C2C route and drop you off at exactly the same spot the following morning. Mike and Mary are the perfect hosts and they have a wealth of information on the area. We enjoyed the tea in the garden upon our...

A friend and I stayed at August Guesthouse while doing the Coast to Coast. Michael and Mary were so kind and helpful. They were extremely gracious when we arrived early (shortly after lunch), served us tea and biscuits and offered to do laundry. They made sure we were comfortable both in their guests' lounge and in their backyard. Our room...

We stayed last night at the August Guest House on our Coast to Coast walk. We called from the Lion Inn and since it was early Michael suggested we walk a bit further and he picked us up at the Millennium Stone car park and drove us to his guest house. He and his wife Mary served us coffee and...

If the Lion Inn Coast to Coast stop is full or doesn't appeal this is an awesome option. Michael and Mary are the perfect hosts. Michael was happy to pick us up at the Lion Inn and drop us back in the morning. He also ran us to the the best pub in the village and back for some excellent...

We were then shown to our rooms and after a freshen up walked to the Coach House for our evening meal. Whilst there the heavens opened to...

This guest house exceeded all expectations. Delightful hosts who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. Rooms were clean, sunny and spacious with views across the hills. Everything was extra special. Breakfasts were delicious with a good choice of healthy home cooked meals. I had kippers my first morning and full English the second day. There was a lounge...

The B&B is a hike from the Lion Inn (we hiked) but Michael would have picked us up if we had asked. He took us to a pub where we had one of our best meals on C2C. He collected us afterwards. He returned us to Lion Inn next morning. He and Mary were great hosts. Loved Michael's dry humour....

August Guest House is warm and friendly. The rooms were quite small but very comfortable and Mary and Michael are lovely and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast looking out over their garden and Michael was very happy to give us a lift to the local pub for our evening meal. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

On arrival we were welcomed by Mary and Michael with afternoon tea and scones. Not only did Michael pick us up from the finish, he drove us to a nearby pub for our evening meal, collected us at the end and drove us to the start of the next leg the following morning. A good breakfast and packed lunches and...
