First call - very welcoming staff, who explained hotel was under going refurbishment (no problem with this as I was aware of situation) . My single room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was a dream to sleep on. Hotel staff polite and helpful. Convenient location for a family wedding 1 mile away, and no problems coming in late...

Stayed in a refurbished room which was newly decorated fresh and immaculately clean. Room quite small but totally adequate for 2 persons. Booked room several months ago and there was a slight problem with booking confirmation last week but soon rectified once the email conversations were checked and original price quoted was honoured. The breakfast was excellent, good quality and nicely...

This is without a shadow of a doubt the worst UK hotel I have stayed in and one of the most expensive I have had on a business trip. For the first time in my life I checked out early. I emailed the hotel management with complaints but I have not heard back from them. Just avoid it if you...

We were in Seven Oak for a school open day and had to be on site for 9am on a Saturday morning. Coming from London, we wanted to take it easy and the Royal Oak, being just across the street from the school, it was the perfect choice for this. We had a complementary coffee tea machine in the bedroom....

Arrived for a coffee at c.0945 , which we could reasonably expect from a hotel. It was served rather slowly and of average quality. No biscuits but a croissante offered , so got a KitCat from the car. Cold room , not a good smell and they couldn't raise a bill as the machine wasn't open but eventually , after...

I recently arranged a large booking for my wedding guests, to stay at this hotel. At the time I was informed that the hotel was under development but the rooms would be ready. Guests since phoned to make bookings, some bookings were taken and others told that bookings for weddings were no longer being made. It took 3 phones calls...

This is a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Reception staff were brilliant at both check in and check out. One member of staff made a personal journey to fetch my morning newspapers form the local newsagents. There is no lift in this hotel. My room was well illuminated and had plenty of storage space. The bed was very...

After travelling far we were greeted, via the bar, reception was locked, with "are you paying cash or credit card" then did we want to book dinner. I would like to have seen our room. We were told it was on the 2nd floor, no lift, very steep stairs. We had to find it ourselves, carrying our own luggage. Room was...

Rooms are ok but do the job. The breakfast looked very nice. Staff very friendly but the could do with a better selection...
