Quick review to say how happy we were with this lovely hotel. Very welcoming but not pretentious. Excellent accomodation, food and service. Staff very helpful and views amazing. Worth that tiny bit extra for a balcony because the views are amazing.Thank you!

The Rock Hotel was the perfect venue for a family members 90th birthday reception. The food was excellent and nothing was to much trouble. Jan the owner and Barry could not do enough to make the day special. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay or like us hold a reception. Thank you Jan. Paul and Maureen.

We visited this hotel Saturday evening for dinner, greeted lovely by the lady owner. The problem was our starter's we had was burnt, as so was our main dinners. The bill came to £82 . Considering this was in Frinton on sea you would have expected to pay this sort of money '''if the would was not burnt and nice''... More

On arrival my husband was taken ill and he spent our first day in bed... The staff could not be more helpful... They could not do enough for us... The hotel itself is amazing, all original feature and like an Aladdin's cave... We will definitely be going back... The view from our bedroom window is stunning...

It was such a delight to take my partner and some family members to "The Rock Hotel" at Frinton-On-Sea, Essex. We were greeted by the friendly staff and we all had a very pleasant meal. Members of the family which were from the "Philippines" liked the decor very much and it was nice to see that the Old Style was... More

We arrived after a long day on the beach and were so impressed with the welcome we received. The decor is a little dated but everything is clean and comfortable. We had a huge room with a sea view, our wine was put in an ice bucket and breakfast was lovely. As a couple of dog lovers the adorable cockerpoo... More

This Hotel is a real step back in time, but what a wonderful greeting and fantastic food! I stayed at the Rock the night before a fairly heavy meeting and I couldn't have picked a better place. The owner is without doubt a very accomplished Hotelier and has ensured that the building has kept all of the 'charm' from many... More

This Hotel may be a bit dated, but the warm welcome, clean crisp white sheets & quietness made for a lovely short break at The Rock. There is ample choice for breakfast and situated only a few minutes from the beach, perfect to walk it off. Jan makes a wonderful, friendly host not forgetting Teddy the dog. We would definitely...
