Just returned from a another stay at the Penhelig a little disappointed as I had by mistake booked a superior room and presumed it had a sea view, sadly the only view you get is a rusty fire escape with people passing by your bedroom window bit of a shock as I was sat in bed drinking my morning coffee had...

Great little place after lovely walk . Another place that is great for gluten free food without making you feel 'unusual' for requiring special diet . Often come here after coastal walk - highly recommend Penhelig . Great character and staff can't do enough to help with choice of food

The hotel does not look special from the outside being right on the road and near a railway bridge, but we stayed in the new Bodhelig suites up behind the hotel - essential if you want private parking. It was gorgeous, large, airy, fabulous view, private balcony and terrace. Nicely decorated with excellent touches like cushions for the balcony furniture...

Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of September. The hotel and my room (no.10, at the top of 2 steep flights of stairs - ask for help with luggage if you need to) overlooks the Dyfi estuary, a quite stunning location, especially to wake up to! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from main town centre. There...

Great place to stay all rooms have a Sea ( Estuary) view. Parking opposite or in a Pay and display 100 yards away. The staff will move cars to allow you on the free car park although as its so popular there may be lots of cars there during meal serving times. Very busy place, excellent food, lots of fresh...

We spent the afternoon here relaxing in the stunning location with excellent service and food. I would recommend the grilled mackerel and the rhubarb and ginger Eton mess. A very popular place and we were lucky but worth while booking in advance

Visited here on a lovely sunny day with two friends. We sat outside across the road from the hotel to take on the beautiful sea view. There were two lunch menus standard and special. The standard was standard pub fare. The special was the seafood that the chef could obtain from the local fishermen. We ordered from the special!!! scallops...

Stayed here one night. Booked the small double room. Very adequate and nice sea views. Staff friendly and efficient. Hotel very clean and well run. Restaurant was great. Food was very good as per the reviews and awards. Definitely much better than pub grub. A great choice incl. many seafood dishes on the specials menu. We saved money by sharing...

One year on from our last visit, 12 golfing friends enjoyed again the excellent standards set by General Manager Phil Thomas and his team. The welcome is always friendly, food superb, great beers and a very reasonable wine cellar. A major refurbishment is due to begin sometime next month which is great news. We shall be back next year.

Loved the Brain's ales, we ate here both nights of our stay. Loved room 18, very spacious and great views. Food excellent. It was a busy time when we were there but service was not stinted nor the food quality. We'll be back
