Room was nice and spacious. The view was great from my room. The stay was not great though as there is a lot of banging doors. The walls are very thin and can here the person turning on the shower. The door slamming was just constant every night. Personally not a great experience and would not stay again.

My fiancé and I stayed here for a night after attending a local wedding. The room was quite cramped and mattress was old with worn out springs. When we checked in the place smelt of fry up and when we walked out of our door in the morning the smell was overwhelming!!!

Stayed at Astala as a family group of 3 (2 adults & 10 year old). Had booked a room for 3 - to accommodate the 3 of us required a fold out lounge, which once folded out left no floor space at all in the room. To stay in the room you could only sit on the bed - or...

The Astala is in a beautiful location overlooking the Marina at Bangor. We had a room on the front of the house which gave us a view over the Marina. The room was excellent, spacious and cleaned daily. The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite was very good. There was always a plentiful supply of hot water. Tea and...

On arrival, no reception desk, no bell or buzzer & no one around. After some waiting I called hotel number & was given keys & shown room. Room 4 is lovely, large, bright & modern with excellent views. Bed is large & very firm with clean white bedding . There is also a sofa & plenty of storage options, however,...

A last minute change meant I had to find somewhere not too pricey and very quickly. So I ended up here. It was a pleasant surprise, clean, quiet, good staff, great breakfast - and right in front of the Marina. Walk out and turn left for a lovely sea walk, or right, and along the front of the town to...

Stayed here for two nights for a visit to family. Lovely spot and great seaviews from our room. Very clean & tidy hotel but a few little repairs required carpets in room quite badly stained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast and a nice bar area. Would definitely stay here on next visit.

This is a superior guest house with modern furnishings and very comfortable. The situation is perfect, being only a minute or so from everything central. If you get a room with a sea view, you have hit the jackpot. Parking is no problem. The cost is reasonable and if you need to breakfast it is available at £6 each. For...
