On a damp and foggy evening we has an early dinner at this traditional pub/restaurant. As soon as we walked in we were met by the wall of heat from the fireplace. Bliss. We had a soft drink whilst deciding what to eat. The OH went for a dish on the special board, pork belly with crackling on a bed...

Visited for Sunday lunch in a party of 6. Quality of food was good and it was reasonably priced however only able to give 3 stars as we had to wait longer than we would have expected for the meals to arrive despite it not appearing to be too busy. Nice real fire next to the bar.

We stopped off here after a day roaming around the Peak District. The accommodation is in a building just off from the pub and although the room was small it was also very quaint and suited us. The food however let the place down. Sunday roast was quite dull and breakfast the next morning was just on the right side...

The restaurant serve delicious food locally sourced. I had a lamb dinner which was served with local fresh vegetables. The lamb was the most delicious I have tasted. The small but well stocked bar...

Lovely welcome, lovely food - dinner and breakfast were delicious, very comfortable room with nice strong shower. If I were to be really picky, it was a little bit of a pain that the WiFi didn't reach the rooms. And although it is not the fault of the hotel - it might be helpful to know that there is no...

Ate here recently with my partner and his mother. He is in his sixties and hadn't been since he was a teenager. Upon entering he said it was like it hadn't changed at all but in a bad way, not good. It was tired looking and needed smartening up. We both love traditional, rustic charm, with lots of character and...

We drove through the Peak District on the way back south from picking up an item in Wakefield and were pleasantly surprised by the Stanley Arms as a restaurant and hotel (B & B). The Clough Room is very nice - large, clean and distinctive in terms of period decoration. To say the area is quiet is an understatement but...

If you're spending time in Manchester and want to see what bed and breakfast is like at its very best go to the Stanley Arms. We had a lovely room with a great view, and a wonderful breakfast. Welcoming staff and reasonable prices. They did the basics very well - very good full English breakfast, nice furniture in the rooms,...
