Just the best in every way I stay in hotels every month at all prices and for me Oakwood park is a gem and they should be proud of the service they provide, other hotels should look to Oakwood as a example of how to get it spot on

Stayed here 28th March as one of the stops on our Hadrian's wall walk. We were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our rooms. Certainly the best hotel we stayed in over our 4 days. A roaring log fire in the lounge was prepared for us followed by some fantastic home cooked food. This was much appreciated...

We were 3 Walkers and the hospitality provided to us by Wendy Thompson and her daughter Katrina was above our wildest expectations. Their small Hotel / B & B set in its own lovely grounds with their own animals roaming the acres, was truly magnificent!! The food was first class and attention to our comfort par excellence!!

Bottom line: Solid 4 star. Good dinner. Good breakfast. Very nice grounds. Limited bar. Some rooms don't have showers. Details: Very nice old country house with many rooms in very good repair. There was a sign saying it had been used as a hospital/recovery home for wounded soldiers during the World Wars. I can certainly believe it; the house was...

This is the most charming B&B during our stay in Great Britain when we walked Hadrian's Wall. Wendy is a gracious host. The setting takes you back in time; the long driveway leading to the manor house is magical as you watch the sheep & cattle graze. Wendy's sitting room is beautifully decorated while preserving it's rich history. And don't...
