What a great hotel in a first class location in Banchory. On the main road but screened by the car park and trees, it felt very secluded. All current safety protocols were strictly adhered to and we felt very safe at all times in all parts of the hotel. A great deal of thought had obviously gone into making the guests feel really at ease. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The food was superb, both at breakfast and dinner. Lots of choices and all delicious. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. Definitely would return.
Reception was held here, small group with no dancing; but what a wonderful evening with amazing food! Actually the food was amazing all weekend, we decided to extend our stay with another night. The bed was very comfortable and having booked a master room, loads of space to relax during the bad weather. Skilled staff despite the enforced long break. Recommend this hotel
We were fortunate to get a room at short notice, as my sister lives locally and due to the restrictions we couldn't stay with her. The staff are a joy, so friendly, service is wonderful. The restaurant is brilliant. My sister and I both had the cod in Parmesan crust and we both agreed that it was one of the best dishes we had tasted. Our room was at the front and it was such a pleasure to watch the birds flitting between the trees. The views of the hills were beautiful. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Thankyou to all the staff for making us feel so welcome.
Four of us had a lovely long leisurely Sunday lunch visit, catching up on months and months of news. We had a perfect table at the window in the dining-room, It was quieter than we though it would be.There is a great menu at the moment - something for everyone. We all loved our food, and I honestly thought my Caesar's Salad with added Cajun Chicken was a double portion! The service was excellent. We really appreciated being left to sit and chat, and were shocked at the time - 4.50pm, when the Restaurant Manager told us he needed the table back for people dining at 5pm! Lovely 4 HOURS spent with friends in a very relaxed and comfortable hotel. We have really missed our visits to Tor na Coille.
We have a daughter living within 5 miles of the Hotel but we couldn't stay with her due to Covid so this gave us an opportunity for a long overdue return to one of our favourite haunts. We had a a spacious front facing, deluxe room on the first floor with an over-bath shower. Due to covid-19 restrictions the accessories such as cushions, throws and visitor info sheets had been removed but that didn't matter. Lift was also unavailable. Weather at the end of April was still cold but the bedrooms were well heated. Welcoming staff. Karen who served us breakfast on day one was an asset to the hotel. Breakfast was as one would expect. Last time we stayed as Uni students was in 1971. In these days you left your shoes outside your bedroom door for the night porter to polish!! Good that their website has pictures of all the available bedrooms. Hotel is on the west side of the town and within easy walking distance of the shops. Can recommend.…
