I stayed here for two nights.
Staffing is minimal but this hotel is well managed and spotlessly clean. Much to my relief, there were METAL keys for both the front and room doors, a very pleasant change from key cards, which frequently malfunction.
The stairs were steep and narrow (photos): it is a converted old house.
The décor in both the public areas and my room was (204) tasteful.
My room was small but well planned and comfortable (photo).
When the central heating was on, it worked well. In the wardrobe were room heaters. There were also a suitcase stand, an iron and an ironing board. The only negative item was the theft-proof clothes-hangers, difficult to manipulate.
There was a small desk (photo) with tea- and coffee making facilities, including decaffeinated tea and biscuits. There were two power points at the desk top. In the desk drawer were electrical adaptors, a thoughtful touch. The desk light was not functioning: I reported this and was assured it would be dealt with.
There was a very detailed Guest Information folder, even including stationery. The one thing I could not find was a TV guide: the TV worked well and had numerous channels.
The WiFi was easy to access and of good quality.
The bed was comfortable but - as so often - decorated with a large number of cushions, which were difficult to store.
The windows were hard to open and in need of painting (photo). The road (photo) was a bit noisy. The blue light on the television somewhat disturbed my sleep.
The room had a small, well equipped bathroom with a bath (photo). There was a good supply of hot water.
There were two waste bins: an open one by the desk, and a pedal-operated one in the bathroom: noisy, inconveniently placed and difficult to operate.
The automatic door-closing mechanism often meant that the door closed with a loud noise.
The breakfast buffet was very varied. The breakfast area would be just adequate for a full complement of guests, but the tables were very small.
They were very flexible when I had to change my booking.

Stayed one night to visit Kew Gardens. Found the town very charming and was glad we chose to stay in Richmond rather than London city. The hotel was everything we needed for a one night stay - it was clean, comfortable, friendly staff and good breakfast. It is an older building so the rooms are small. I would stay here again and would chose to stay in Richmond over London, which is only 30 mins away on the train.

Very friendly staff with a very nice continental breakfast. The room was a bit small and TV a small too.

Good location, nice building. No lift so quite a few stairs if you staying in a higher floor. There was a shortage of power points in bedroom.

What a gem at a fair price. As a back packer I required somewhere close to the Thames, clean and comfortable. ☑️I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a double, sadly a busy night at the local hostelry up the road, with a load of loud idiots until pretty late, so a front room might not be a great position if like me you’re a bit sensitive to noise.
The breakfast for me was plentiful with plenty of choice and fresh fruit, a welcome change to a fry up. I’m pleased I was able to assist in preventing too much waste.....croissants for lunch too.
A very welcoming and friendly lady, sorry I can’t recall your name. Thank you and I hope you get out to walk the Thames too.

A clean room which was appreciated as had a late night then an early morning!! Bed was comfortable. Didn't experience breakfast as left earlier than the serving time so not able to comment. Room needed the window open as weather was hot which meant that there was lots of noise from passing traffic and the night crowd so had a mixed review for sleeping - 1 slept well and 1 had disturbed sleep. Note that there is an extra surcharge for arriving late - although the hotel were accommodating to this requirement.
