We had a cabin for the night. The facilities are lovely and clean and everything you need by way of a communal kitchen and toilet block. Our cabin had linen and the bed was very comfortable. The campsite was very peaceful as not many people were staying, we walked down to the lake edge and got some great photos, later... More

Stopped in for the night on the way up the west coast. Popular spot for holiday makers and passer bys. Very handy for the lake and surrounding areas. Amenities are as stated, full kitchen available, bathrooms include great showers.

This campsite was so lovely, we went back for more. The campgrounds have a magical feel about them, and the lake and scenery is breathtaking. Some of the facilities are a little outdated, and the showers not fabulous, but it doesn't matter when you are in surroundings such as these. We were given the best site of the campground both... The view from our campervan was so spectacular, the lake ever changing in the different light. The park like setting is huge and there is lots of space and so many gorgeous spots. What we booked was not what we expected from the website. We were under the impression the room had a kitchenette inside as well as a toilet. Would recommend ringing and checking the facilities as the website is not clear on them. We left after one night and only stayed because we arrived so late. Park management were super unhelpful... Thank you for your review. I am sorry if feel that you were mislead but it is very clear on our website that the cabins are just basic and use the shared facilities. Our website www.haweaholidaypark.co.nz states that "Our traditional cabins are a great option. Communal Kitchen and showers are nearby. Each cabin is equipped with a fridge, beds, table... More

A large campground with great shadowy sites. If you pay a bit more, you have a direct view over the lake. Friendly staff. The installations are OK and clean, kitchen and communal area. We had a dream breakfast at the lakeside with mountains in the background (a few more benches would be nice…). Paid 2$ for a day Wifi. The... More

Visited in autumn when the park was virtually empty. Was able to park up right by the lake with a view of the mountains and cook my tea. Clean facilities throughout and fairly priced. Some huge pine trees and lots of different places to camp. Would definitely stop by there again but not sure how busy it would be in... More

Beautiful setting beside lake Hawea amongst mature trees. Older style facilities. 2 kitchen and shower blocks (but only the main block next to the office is open after Easter). Showers hot and everywhere is very clean. Helpful and friendly owners. We'll be back again (this is our third visit anyway).
