Very clean basic rooms with a convenient location just off the highway.

Beds were comfortable and staff was very friendly and efficient.

If you like lots of water pressure in the shower you won’t be disappointed.

We found this area had more hotel availability as Terrace and Smithers were completely booked up. Very glad we stopped here.

Planned to stay 1 night, the beds were so comfortable we stayed an additional night. Best water pressure in northern BC means the best showers. Owner couldn’t have been more accommodating. Picnic tables, lawn chairs & gas bbqs available right outside the door. She will help you with anything you might need. Super clean & quiet.

I can't believe so highly rated.

When you walk into the door, you are greeted with the smell of wet dog. There's not any digs in your room but it smells like the walls were painted with ones tongue. If you walk to the back of the building, you will see that the bathroom window for every single room is open. I'm guessing to air them out? I thought it was nasty but if you like dogs though, this might not be an issue.

No air conditioning. 12" fan instead.

Floors squeak and I'm on the top floor. I feel bad for whoever is on the ground floor.

Did you forget a razor? No worries. The pressure from the shower will allow the water to skin you smooth. This is the highest pressure show I have ever seen. I actually like that though.

In room fridge has a decent sized freezer.

Wifi is ok.

Towels are really old.

Beds are hard

It's quiet.

Front desk girl was nice but wasn't wearing a mask and it's mandatory in this province.

If you've lost your sense of smell, this place actually isn't horrible. Otherwise, drive 1.5 hours either way to a better hotel.

It was 100 degrees, and we wanted to cool off and take a shower, after traveling down from Alaska in the car with a small camper. So we pulled in here for the night. There is not much choice anywhere nearby, so this was it.

Dirty, run down, dangerous outside steps, loud small air con unit on one end of room, so cold in front of it, hot a few feet away. Shower was poor. Everything smelled like fake rose odor from some cleaner. No ice machine, . I could go on, but you get the idea.

I would have got a refund and left, but my wife wanted a shower and some sleep in a cool place.

This is unfortunately one of the poorest examples of a motel I have had the displeasure to stay at.

Robber's Roost is a great place to stay overnight on your way (back) to Stewart & Hyder. Actually, it turned out to be a nice preparation for our bear-experience in Hyder, as there was a brown bear walking in the backyard of the motel. It seemed the people in New Hazelton are used to bears wandering through the village, but it was pretty exciting for us!
Anyway: New Hazelton is a very small 'middle of nowhere'-village with quite some abandoned shops and houses, but still there are few (Chinese!) restaurants, there is a supermarket and - important in this area - a gas station. Robber's Roost offers nice and clean rooms. Besides the usual furniture you expect in a motel like this, we had a microwave, fridge and coffeemachine. We had a good and quiet night sleep. The Dutch owners, Pete and Yet, are very friendly and hospitable.
Overall: good value for money (which is important for Dutch visitors, obviously!)

We've stayed here a number of times over past few years, while on business and when visiting family in area, it is quite convenient. New owners just took over this month & seem very nice. We do wish them luck in this new business adventure. Rooms are clean & fairly spacious. Beds comfortable & linen clean, pillows a bit flat & not soft so could use updating in the future. Outside, stairs etc. have needed a bit of a facelift for some time now & hopefully something the new owners will tackle once they get settled and into making it their own. Bathrooms clean & there was lots of hot water for showers. Coffee maker in room and our room also had a small fridge which was handy. Will definitely continue to stay there on future trips to the area.

Thank you so much for the review and ideas! As you know, we purchased this property in February of this year. Since then, we've cleaned, de-cluttered, and repainted the exterior as well as added some cedar trim. We took your advice and replaced the carpeting on the stairs. In addition, we've installed all new bedding, including new hypoallergenic encasements on all box springs, mattresses, and pillows for our guests' comfort (the new pillows are top-of-the-line microfibre). We look forward to seeing you again!
