Whenever I am in the Hazelton area I stay at the Bulkley Valley Motel. It is affordable, comfortable and the owners are courteous and friendly. For the business traveller the internet is fast and the desk area spacious. The beds are comfortable and with a kitchen unit you have everything you need ( a home away from home).
The motel is located next to a grocery store, a family restaurant and within walking distance to what I consider a very high end restaurant.
I would highly recommend this motel to anyone who is travelling through the Hazelton area.

Thank you for your kind comments! While our property isn't the prettiest from the outside, we have modern, comfortable and quiet rooms. It sounds like you enjoyed one of our rooms that includes a full sized kitchen. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Barry

This is an older style motel on the highway and does not look all that great. However, we had a room with a full kitchen -- good because there is no on site food service but a grocery store next door. It was clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the fridge next to the bed made noise during the night.

We're locals, but we recently rented out our house and moved away temporarily - and when we come back to Hazelton we've stayed in hotels. We've tried almost every one in the area and this Motel deserves it's #1 on trip advisor rating - it is the best!

First - it is on the highway, easy to find. It is always well priced. It is an old motel, and the owners work hard to keep it clean and in good condition. The rooms are comfy and our fav was the top room closest to the mountain. As another reviewer mentioned the rooms are also a good size!

We found the beds to be comfortable, and we appreciated the bar fridge. There's also a BBQ that guests are welcome to use.

The owners are a young couple and they do a great job.

There is a corner store right beside the motel, the excellent skeena bakery across the street, and the BC eagle across the parking lot serves breakfast. There's also a great skate park across the street. Best location in New Town!

We had a comfortable night's stay at the Bulkley Valley Motel while traveling through Canada with our dog. We were traveling in a large truck with a trailer, which we had to park across the street because of the smaller parking area outside the rooms. This did not end up being any problem. There is a grocery store within walking and the room has a microwave and Wi-Fi.

I agree with the previous reviewers about the BVM. None of them, however, have mentioned that this older motel offers what many newer rooms lack - space! My room-for-one has a couch, a large bar fridge, a small dresses and a four-foot two-tiered desk. It is nice to have a place to open my bag and to lay out all my travel gear without having to move it to use the space for something else. At $75 this is the best travel value I have had in a long time plus it comes with real hospitality.

My Job has me bouncing around British Columbia a lot, I have seen every kind of motel this province has to offer! So when I tell you this place is very accommodating, Reasonably priced and Super cosy you should probably Believe me! It has a amazing view of the mountains, Is insanely close to everything you would need Grocery store, restaurant etc. Its staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met! So if your Out and about in the New Hazelton area and need a place to crash Your first choice should be the Bulkley Valley Motel.... cause lets be honest the other places kinda suck....

My dad is a "independent" house guest. So when he comes to visit we get him into the BV Motel. Clean, cozy and close. It is perfectly situated for him wander around town, grab a bite to eat, pick up some groceries, and walk up to our house for a visit. The staff is great. This is THE place to stay in the Hazeltons!

I was doing a job in Hazelton for about a month but was staying with some friends in Smithers, then had to come back for a week to finish it and stayed at this hotel in Hazelton. We weren't working many huge hours so had some time to kick it at night. The Rooms and hospitality were wicked the two young people that own and run the hotel make it. They are super nice and friendly and make your stay enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone spending the night in Hazelton.

Cheers

Clean, reasonably priced room in a well kept up motel. I'd recoomend it for any traveller stopping in New Hazelton. Great customer service from Natasha at receipt, even though she was recuperating from a badly sprained ankle.

Wifi speed is almost 5 Mbps - faster than my home. The computer table has an office chair that can be raised and lowered; and an outlet on the wall for charging devices that is easily accessible (how nice not to have to crawl under a table!) A comfortable leather sofa, and everything is in A-1 condition. Outside it is not that sparkly but inside it is a gem.
