My Job has me bouncing around British Columbia a lot, I have seen every kind of motel this province has to offer! So when I tell you this place is very accommodating, Reasonably priced and Super cosy you should probably Believe me! It has a amazing view of the mountains, Is insanely close to everything you would need Grocery store, restaurant etc. Its staff are some of the friendliest people I've ever met! So if your Out and about in the New Hazelton area and need a place to crash Your first choice should be the Bulkley Valley Motel.... cause lets be honest the other places kinda suck....

My dad is a "independent" house guest. So when he comes to visit we get him into the BV Motel. Clean, cozy and close. It is perfectly situated for him wander around town, grab a bite to eat, pick up some groceries, and walk up to our house for a visit. The staff is great. This is THE place to stay in the Hazeltons!

I was doing a job in Hazelton for about a month but was staying with some friends in Smithers, then had to come back for a week to finish it and stayed at this hotel in Hazelton. We weren't working many huge hours so had some time to kick it at night. The Rooms and hospitality were wicked the two young people that own and run the hotel make it. They are super nice and friendly and make your stay enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone spending the night in Hazelton. Cheers

Clean, reasonably priced room in a well kept up motel. I'd recoomend it for any traveller stopping in New Hazelton. Great customer service from Natasha at receipt, even though she was recuperating from a badly sprained ankle.

The Bulkley Valley Motel doesn't look like much from the outside, but our room, at least, was clean, reasonably modern, and had had some recent "pick-me-up". While not a 5-star resort, the room was neat and tidy and the paint appeared to be fresh. Especially appealing were the recently-redone bath and the modern A/C system. No ice machine meant a short walk to a neighboring grocery, but, otherwise, all of what you would expect in a travelers' motel. Comfortable bed; good window shades;a pleasant bath...all made us happy. Also a very friendly and helpful front desk staff (who, apparently, was also the house-keeping person?). Anyway, a decent place to spend the night on a road trip...not a destination.

Wifi speed is almost 5 Mbps - faster than my home. The computer table has an office chair that can be raised and lowered; and an outlet on the wall for charging devices that is easily accessible (how nice not to have to crawl under a table!) A comfortable leather sofa, and everything is in A-1 condition. Outside it is not that sparkly but inside it is a gem.

A real gem!! After a long day of driving and coming into the area late, we were doubtful of finding any place that would offer a nice clean room. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Bulkely Valley Motel in New Hazelton. Recently renovated, it is spotless, clean and well appointed. It has all the niceties like, Wifi, TV and fridge. The bathroom was super clean and the bed comfortable. The owner/operator is a tremendous fellow who will provide you with any information you need for your travels north, along with great recommendations for places to visit and places to eat. Its also pet friendly. A great place to stay!!

Clean, basic motel. Staff were only too happy to oblige. Towels were thin and on the small side. Strong smell in unit could have been cleaning materials, or from a previous smoker in a non-smoking unit. We cooked excellent steak from the adjacent grocery store on the motel's gas barbecue. Utensils, plates and scullery generously provided by the motel manager. AdvIce to those who are not used to the noisy utility / twin cab vehicles favoured in this part of Canada. By nature, a motel is noisier than an inn or a hotel. Even considerate guests make a noise departing from a motel in these vehicles.

The first thing I noticed were the well done, home-made signs advertising the motel on the way into New Hazelton. When I arrived i though, "this doesn't look Like much on the outside.". I met Barry, the owner, who checked me in and paid attention to give me a downstairs room since I was riding a motorcycle, nice thought. The surprise came when I walked in the room. Whereas the outside was unremarkable, the rooms were crisp and clean with new furnishings and carpet that appeared new. I liked it. Even though there was a family with little kids running around above me, the sound-proofing of the rooms was good. If you are blazing a trail up the Cassiar highway or heading back to Jasper, this may be a good stop for you. Bakery (w/coffee) across the street and grocery next door.

I was impressed initially by the signs advertising the motel on my way into Hazleton while traveling southbound on highway 37. When I arrived I met the owner who gave freely of his time to tell me of local historic sites as well as interesting and quality places to eat. The room was spotless with up to date amenities representing real value at a very competitive price. While this little gem might seem a little unassuming at first glance from the street I heartily recommend it to anyone passing through the area. You may be tempted to stay a little longer! Be careful, while the motel is on the main street of a small town keep a look out, I almost missed it and I was looking for it.
