We were driving through Canada to Alaska, and had spent the last 3 nights sleeping in our car. We were READY for a bed and a hot shower, and we got both at the Bulkley Valley Motel. We stopped at the Bulkley after looking at a more pricey room at a different motel that was horrendous. Our room at the Bulkley was perfect! The bed was super comfortable, the room was clean, the heater in the room worked great and kept us nice and toasty. Best of all, the price was unbeatable. It was LESS expensive than the yucky place we looked at first! The hotel owners/managers were very friendly and helpful and made our stay enjoyable. If you are traveling through the Hazeltons, the Bulkley Valley Motel is the best stop you could make!

My wife, daughter, and I stayed at the Bulkley Valley Motel on the 15th September 2011, whilst on a driving holiday from Vancouver to Whitehorse on the Stewart Cassiar Highway. We were visitors from England and this was just our second overnight stop on the trip. We were VERY impressed with the motel. The room was spotless, the bathroom was immaculate, and the manager very welcoming. We arrived very late, and he was there to greet us and gave us some invaluable advice regarding our onward journey. The following morning, he looked for us to give us a printout of the roadworks that we would need to pass, and told us about a number of sights not to miss - including the spectacular Salmon glacier near Hyder, which we would never have seen otherwise. He said that it wasn't to be

Great to hear you made it to Salmon Glacier! We enjoyed having you stay with us and are thrilled that you enjoyed it so much. Don't let too many years pass before trekking through northern BC again. Cheers!

Do NOT be deceived by the somewhat tacky exterior, or the location; inside, the rooms are excellent, definitely up to par. Having stayed in some chain hotels recently, this motel stands out as cared for and modernized. Great value.

It is SO true - the exterior is still in the category of "tacky" which we hope to address in coming years - but where we have invested is in the rooms. Thanks for seeing past our "first impression" and giving us a go. The solid wood furniture and new carpets, plus the completely rebuilt bathrooms seem to be getting positive attention.

A lovely place. From the outside, we thought it looked the nicest of all the places. My wife noted it was the highest priced of the motels. Since they were not that far apart and it is small, I thought the slightly higher price indicated quality. The manager was very friendly and helpful in suggesting a place to eat. It turns out that she has been there just a month. The room was very clean and the internet connection was very good. Definitely the place to stay in New Hazelton.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend. I couldn't have asked for more friendly people to take care of my needs. They kept a clean atmosphere and privacy was exceptional...Comfortable beds to get a good nights rest! We got upgraded to a kitchenette unit large room. The managers were very helpful and accommodating they showed us where to go eat and site see the motel is surrounded by mountains just beautiful. Someone came in to clean our room for us daily whether we asked or not - it was SO nice to come "home" to a clean room everyday! My boyfriend and I had the BEST vacation imaginable for a more than reasonable price. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay while you enjoy the attributes of this area, this is the place I recommend...Have a good stay!

Don't let the building or small front office fool you. The rooms are great! One of the best values in northern bc. The room interiors are very nice. We got a fridge, desk, vanity mirror and a couch. Very cozy. If timing was better we would have stayed there again on our way back.

We've worked hard to create comfortable rooms for our guests. Thanks for letting people know that we put all our resources into the rooms. If a few more people stay with us this summer we can fix up the outside curb appeal soon too!

My Fiancé and I were travelling through northern British Columbia stopping in various locations for hiking and sightseeing. While heading towards Terrace from Burns lake we decided to stop along the way. Amused by the trail of signs leading to the Bulkley Valley Motel we decided to sleep there. The managers were very friendly and helpful, they had a great suggestion for dinner and a short hike to go on before dinner to work up an appetite. The rooms were air conditioned and very clean, recently renovated as well! I would definetly go back for a longer stay to fully take in the beauty of the area in a comfortable atmosphere.

I drove all the way form Saskatoon just for the weekend, not nearly enough time to truely enjoy all that the New Hazelton and area has to offer. I plan to take two weeks vacation in the area and there is nowhere else I would concider staying. thanks for the great experience.
