A very friendly welcome and good facilities. Excellent breakfast - best bacon and eggs I have ever tasted! The courtyard and exterior of the building was perfect and the property was very well cared for, very clean and in excellent condition. Charming hosts.

Very good value for money. Beautifully appointed, classic, quality decor, very comfortable room, a delicious breakfast, gorgeous views to the river. The most ideal 'mine hosts', they directed us to the restaurant in Bonne Rivage the local hotel, we highly recommend a stay here.

A fantastic place to stop over on the way home. The pool is superb! The terrace is planted with fragrant lavender! Peaceful and relaxing! Would recommend! Town is very quiet so stay is probably an overnight or two maximum! River view is superb! Wifi is great and has allowed us to see the Aussies take a well deserved bashing!!

Stayed here for 4 nights whilst joining a family holiday. The hosts Marie and Jean were most welcoming, the property is beautifully kept and provides good overnight accommodation. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend for an overnight stay.

We arrived after a long drive and were greeted by the owners in a courtyard with a pool and flowers all around. The room was adequate though the toilet was a bit funny and noisy. But the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with coffee or tea, jams, bread, croissant, cereal. All too much, but very good.

This is what I would describe as everything you would hope for from a French hotel We were bowled over by the courtyard entrance to the hotel which has a small but nice swimming pool and lounge area where we enjoyed a nice cool beer. The room was beautifully set out with comfortable bed and gave an impression of typical...

This is exactly the kind of place we look for: in a small town, with a congenial owner on site, with comfortable facilities. We loved the location, we loved the room and we were charmed by the owner, her warmth and generosity. The best part of traveling in France for us is that every encounter is personal, and we could...

My partner and I stayed at La Fontaine des Arts for two nights in December, Marie is a lovely host, the house is beautiful, and the breakfast is very good, including Marie's own home made marmalade which was absolutely delicious. I couldn't recommend La Fontaine de Arts highly enough! I agree with the previous review that the web site does...

We stayed here for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding in the area. Friends of ours were staying in the Beau Rivage Hotel a few doors away and paid the same price - but we got so much more for our money. Marie has a beautiful house and is a very congenial host. I thoroughly recommend it. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A wonderful natural space offering unique comfort, combined with typical Charentaise stone architecture, La Fontaine des Arts witnesses to the magnificence of its past. At the heart of the village of MANSLE between the countryside and the sea, with a temperate climate, this ancient building occupies an exceptional site on the banks of the Charente river. Restored tastefully by Marie-France and Gerard, the decoration and fittings have been conceived for today's tourism, for quality, in the calm of this old post house. ... more   less
