This was the oddest experience that I've had travelling, and I travel enough to know.
The motel looks clean and inviting from the outside, but that's all window dressing. The receptionist was indifferent, almost like I was disturbing her. The $95 rate was high enough, but then she proceeded to pre-approve my credit card for $200 more, "in case I smoked in the non-smoking room". I assured her I wouldn't. Upon entering the room, I felt like I entered a garage sale....from the 60s. Furniture could not be cheaper, ancient presswood everywhere. An old, uncomfortable bed. Tiny soap and no shampoo in the room, small towels.
The next morning, they wouldn't let me leave until someone went back to the room to smell the air (again, to make sure there was no smoking there). Good grief, I haven't smoked in 20 years. They were almost fanatical about it, and it was whispered to me that the owner was directing them in behaving the way that management was. Very odd, almost Twilight Zoneish.
When I met friends that were from the area later on, they made fun of me for staying there. They knew better.
Nice from the outside (I think the owners spent too much money on fancy plants, and not enough on upgrading the room), but well below average on the inside. I am not a reviewer that often warns or cautions, but here I must be frank. I wouldn't stay here.

The Motel is well located near central Shippagan, Acadian Peninsula. Rooms are not very large but are clean. Prize is fair for this kind of hotel. You can have a good and tasty breakfast for a few dollars more. Staff is gentle and very dedicated to the visitors giving a lot of information on the area. There is a cyclable path located around 200 meters of the Motel. So no need to use the car to reach it. A few rooms are larger and could be usable by disabled persons moving in a wheelchair.

i was surprised the room was renovated very clean, I was expecting something old and not so good. The only downside is that they dont do check in after midnight... wich is very weird . There was no hot water everytime i went for shower! Wich made me very mad. the bed was comfortable, for Shippagan, you can t really complain. Internet was reliable and good , staff is nice, Acadians are the best :)

As we were cycling the Acadian Peninsula, this motel was conveniently located 900 meters off trail. Clean room, comfortable bed, lots of water with a mini fridge. Also had a trailer to safely store bikes. Takeout and grocery store next to motel. Delicious restaurant on site for breakfast and lunch. Town was clean with a lovely boardwalk. Staff excellent

The Brise Marine Motel is the only hotel in Shippagan. It is located from a couple of minutes’ drive from the commercial heart of the city. I have stayed there many times and I am reviewing here my stay in a renovated room available in this hotel. In this same establishment, room varies a lot in size, available equipment and upgrades to today taste.

The property
This motel is located in the town and far from the sea side. So no water front view is available there. There is no a commercial activity, restaurants or stores, from a walking distance. But from a couple of minutes by car, we can reach the area where this town couple of restaurant are located. The motel has a restaurant on site that was open for breakfast and lunch during my stay, but closed at night. This complex has two main buildings around a large free parking lot. In one section, the rooms open to an interior corridor and in the other they open directly outside (traditional motel style). The hall is also the restaurant entrance.

The room
During this trip, I stayed in a renovated room. This room is small, with a queen size bed. This bed was very soft, uncomfortable and, for me, didn’t provide a good night of sleep. It was accessible only on one side because the wall was too close on the other side. The furniture and decoration seems recent. There is a night stand only on one side of the bed. A USB socket is available in the alarm clock on the night stand. The floor is a plastic covering false wood. A tiny table with two chairs is basically the only furniture. No desk is provided. A power socket is available near the table. The available storage space is sufficient, mainly a small wardrobe with door.
An ironing board, with its electric iron, is provided and a tiny fridge installed in a corner. There is no coffee machine or microwave oven. There is no thermostat in the room to control the heating system. To change the heating level, it’s necessary to turn a knob directly on the baseboard on the floor. So there is no way to control the temperature in the room. During my stay, I didn’t used the air conditioning provided in the room. The room soundproofing is bad. You can hear everything from the adjacent room or from outside. On the bright side, the room is clean and the furniture is in very good shape.

The bathroom
The bathroom is tiny and clean. The shower is in a bath. The counter space next to the sink is large enough. During my stay, a lot of time was needed to have access to hot water. But once the right water temperature reached, it stays stable and the pressure in good in the shower.

Services
Besides the restaurant, there are not really any other installation, no pool, or gym, or common areas. We are talking here about a basic motel.

The internet access (Wi-Fi) is free but there was a lot of connection interruptions during my stay. A television is hung on the wall and there is an access to connect a HDMI cable in its back. However, if you need to connect a device, you will need a long cable since the TV is located in height against the wall. The TV remote wasn’t working. I didn’t report this issue because I didn’t really needed to use the television.

The devil is in the details:
- Bad soundproofing.
- Not really a room for two persons.
- Hot water not quickly available.

Pros
- The only hotel in town.
- New furniture.

Cons
- No heat temperature control.
- Bed comfort.
- No desk.
- Tiny bathroom.

Stayed here on a business trip to Lameque recently. This place is a solid deal. The rooms are clean, water gets hot, the bed and pillows are nice and firm, plus a tv with good cable selection. The location is ideal for anywhere from Petit-Pacquetville on up to Miscou. The only thing I would change is add a microwave. My only word of caution: the doorknob is close to the jamb, and if you're not careful it hurts to hit with your hand. Nbd, though. Next time up here this is where I'll stay.

First impression wasn't great. Didn't feel that my business was appreciated; I could have stayed anywhere else and that would be fine with them.

The room: Smelled strongly of what I believe was bleach. Was noticable the whole time. Couldn't get used to. Small space, but mini-fridge, desk, and a nice wardrobe cabinet were included. Room was very hot. Turned on a/c, then noticed the filter. Turned off a/c and cleaned filter (gross - see picture). Wouldn't have turned it back on, but it was needed. Who knows what I was breathing.

Bathroom small but sufficient. Fan sounds like it needs a new bearing, and either mold (possible water damage?) or dirt in one ceiling corner (see pic). Power outlet not secured to wall (pic). Toilet seat had to be wiped off. Don't know what it was, but it wasn't clean. And yes, single-ply, thinner-than-paper toilet paper. Ugh.

Reasonably comfortable sleep.

Internet was surprisingly fast and reliable.

Overall an average stay. Would have given 3 stars, but the strong smell put me off.

The motel is a very average. Clean but older and there is a bit of a smell in the room. When we arrives there wasn't anyone to greet us. We had to call on a phone outside by the front door. We were told what room to go to and the key would be on the table. It's not a terrible place but not a great place either. This was my second time there and I must say the first time was more welcoming.
