Wonderful library room in the Inn, excellent staff - warm, friendly, couldn't do enough to help. BUT - food very limited for breakfast and dinner , especially if one is staying for a week. The specials didn't change and there was limited choice of mains and deserts.
Decided to have a family meal out here, menu was limited, the 5 of us decided what we wanted & ordered our meals at the bar, the meals came out very quickly...wow quick service, we were impressed, but thats as far as that went as now we got to eat our food which we looked forward to all afternoon. omg thats when it all went wrong!! its the dearest microwave meal i have ever had... yes microwaved reheated meal, it was awful, overcooked & tasteless & for £12.00 we will never eat here again, rated 2 stars as the staff were lovely though.
Myself and my wife stayed here for one night, gifted to us as a wedding present. Whilst it was a gift, and not paid for ourselves, I do think £75 was a bit steep. The room was lovely, but it was quite dusty. Sides and the lamp were quite thick with dust! The shower sealant was quite mouldy. We were also informed we'd have a river view, but the only view we had was to the back of the kitchen and eye contact with staff (from my bed) working out back. Use of the pool was 9-5, however, booking in at 2pm didn't really give us enough time (without feeling rusted) to enjoy that. We were offered to pay £10 each to book in for breakfast which we declined as we had other arrangements for breakfast. However, on the morning we decided we would actually have our breakfast there which we paid for at the bar (instead of the £10 booking price). I'm glad we did it this way, as our breakfast came to a lot less than £20! Aside from the negatives, the staff were very nice, the room was very stylish and accomodating and the twin beds were very comfortable.…
We came here as a family and whilst came self catering, didn't plan on doing much cooking! My holiday too afterall :) We have eaten a total of three times in the Waveney Inn and have thoroughly enjoyed it each time. The beer battered fish and chips are stunning! The place isn't busy this time of year with children at school, but that doesn't mean they allow standards to slip - oh no, they still Send out the same good quality, well cooked good as always. With a polite smile and chit chat. Come to this hidden oasis of calm. It's hotel and cabins are gorgeous and the Inn serves great food. Thumbs up from me
We really couldn't fault the room we had, the aft cabin.....apart from the views which you can see in the photos from all 4 windows. I think a bit more transparency would be good when booking this room. To say there is a limited river view is stretching the truth. It didn't affect our stay but had we known the views from the windows we may have chosen a different room. The Waveney Inn room was spotless and the bed was super comfortable. There was a good selection of tea, coffee, milk and other beverages as well as biscuits which were stocked up on request. The staff were mostly helpful although when I requested a hairdryer I was told that there should be one in the room but despite searching every drawer and cupboard I didn't find one. It's in a lovely location and suited us well for our boat hire. Very peaceful here. Soap is provided but bring your own shower gel, hair shampoo and conditioner.…
