We spent a long time looking on line for a place to stay in the Peak District and we were not disappointed with our final choice - so to save you time looking just stay here it's fabulous!. The cottage is in a beautiful setting with breathtaking views. The room was a great size with everything that we needed. It...

My husband and I have just returned from this delightful b&b. Wonderful location and views, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Andrew was a wonderful host and extremely helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Clean neat and tidy room in a good B&B next door to The Barrel Inn, which is about the best place to dine in the whole area. These are the only 2 properties in Bretton and they both are located at the high point of a ridge. Great views all around. Andrew was very helpful and our only complaint was...

My wife and I spent four nights here at the end of June. Andrew is very welcoming, but it was a pity that we didn’t catch a glimpse of Karen in all the four days. Breakfasts are very good with large full English; salmon and scrambled egg; a kind of Welsh rarebit with ham and egg; an interesting mushroom and...

A great B&B needs to do few things right but it does need to get them spot on especially when, like this place, the price is higher per night than some hotels, but we were not disappointed at all. The location on top of a ridge overlooking the Hope Valley is sensational, and the walks you can do are fantastic,...

Great place, very friendly and polite staff, everybody makes you feel like a family member. Very kindly called us in the morning to us if we still would like to have breakfast with them (but we had a late lie in) View from our room was stunning! Very recommended!

My husband and I took our first trip to the Peak District last week and booked Bretton Cottage as our base. Upon arrival we were a little surprised at how remote the location was but any initial reservations were cast aside when we stepped into a generous and well furnished suite. Andrew greeted us warmly and confirmed a booking for...

Excellent location and Andrew Metcalfe couldn't have been more welcoming and understanding as a genial host attentive to all our needs, even putting on the central heating on the afternoon of our arrival as the cold winds do blow at the highest point in the area. The buildings in the Peak District are often stone flagged floors and thick walls...

Bretton Cottage is located in the heart of the Peak District on a ridge with beautiful views and delightful walks from the front door. It's also right next to a pub, the Barrel Inn, offering good food and beers - but this does not mean the room suffers from noise. Our room was well-appointed with a huge bed and a...

Thought Bretton cottage was very nice - rooms were lovely and the breakfast was tasty. Nice country location just across the road from a pub in a quiet very small little town. Really enjoyed my stay, was nice to get away from it all to the quiet of the countryside.
