Called the week before we arrived for a weeks holiday in the area to ensure we could take our little Yorkshire Terrier in the bar for evening meals and we received a lovely response saying that it wouldn't be a problem at all. However when we arrived at 7.00pm on Saturday evening (with only about 3 tables occupied in the...

Great food and drink, good location for the Peak District walks etc. However the bed in room 3 must be as old as the pub and creaked and groaned when anyone moved hence not a good night sleep. Not sure about WiFi if you have to pay as you need to register on a website, EE has no phone reception,...

We visited as a family of four on a Sunday lunch time On arrival the pub was very busy. We walked through to look for a table. The lady who works there abruptly told us there were no tables for 4 and walked off. No attempt was made to help us. There was a table free with 2 chairs and...

Make sure you know exactly what you want to order before you go in, as the impatience of the staff on duty Saturday afternoon was something to behold! Very unsettling! Some of the party were choosing drinks, some wanted food. There was a real Basil Fawlty air to the guy behind the bar rushing everyone. The woman taking food orders...

Thank you for your comments. Perhaps an explanation would clarify this rather scathing review. Your group arrived at 1:55pm and when asked "do you required food as the kitchen closes in 5 minutes", you replied "no, just drinks". We noticed that some of the people in your group, stood behind you, were looking at the menu. It became quite clear...

Went on Wednesday lunch time with husband. Surprised by choices on both normal menu board and special in addition to separate salad and sandwich menu. Husband had gammon and I had haddock and mozzarella fish cakes. You need to be hungry as portions are hearty. Enjoyable meal.

Stayed here for one night to attend the Eyam Plague Service. Had a few beers in the bar & really enjoyed our stay. Nice place, nice people, good bed & good breakfast ....& ghosts, allegedly. What more could you want?

Basic, clean accommodation for anyone who wants a short stay in the Peak District. Quirky shower and intermittently noisy plumbing. Juice and hot drinks at breakfast plus cereal, toast, individual breakfast items or full breakfast. Wifi was advertised but could only get in bar/ restaurant area. Friendly staff.

We weren't expecting to have great food here as it's a village pub with no local competition. But the food was very good indeed. We enjoyed everything we ate. The best was probably the rib eye steak, cooked rare, to perfection and was tender and juicy. The least liked was the Yorkshire pudding and Cumberland sausage. The sausage was a...

We enjoyed a really lovely mid-week evening meal at The Miner's Arms. We hadn't thought it would be as good as it was but we were treated to a lovely choice of great quality food; in fact we ate far too much! The local beer and the wine was also good value. The pub was within a 15 minute walk...

This pub was local to where we were staying for the week. The locals were friendly and the food was good - generous portions and freshly cooked. My husbands cod was described as having the best batter he'd had for a very long time. Friendly, helpful owners made visits a pleasure.
