We had unfortunatedly the rooms in the attic and a very high temperature weekend so, you can imagine it was very hot and no air condition but the restaurant really convinced us with high standards of cooking. Service was also very attentive and friendly. Here you can truly find the old charm of Alsacian lodging.

We did not stay in the hotel but had a lunch in the restaurant. The food is Alsacian but less traditional and more contemporary. We had a three course menu that was attractively priced. The first course which was a mixed green salad with walnuts and a thinly sliced cured meat was delightful. The second course of a creamed chicken... More

Hotel - this hotel consists of several buildings with convoluted passageways. There is no elevator, so you must climb a worn, circular stairway to get to your room. There is no one to help with your bags. Our room, number 5, was spacious and bright and filled with modern furniture. The bathroom had been modernized, with a tub and hand... More

We visited the Hotel Restaurant Gilg with another couple - friends from Germany who had the language skills we lack. They have been coming to this place once or twice per year for some 15 years to enjoy the medieval atmosphere, fine local wines and great food. We have to agree that the two dinner meals we had at the... More

We all had the three course menu with goat cheese on toast and salad as starter, duck with potatoes as main and some cake as dessert. Very nice, super price (17€) and good service. Good choice. Especially when you look at the usual prices at this place.

We screwed up and didn't have any reservations in the area. Everything was booked. Hotel Gilg had 2 rooms, but warned us, and showed us, they were in the unrestored top floor of the Hotel. And they were that. But, they had nice views, were clean, and fairly large and the price was right. Location is great. Close to several... More

... and some very nice wines of the region, of the village. The waiter knows what suits your menu. The service is friendly, the food is worth a detour: do not miss the goose liver! And afterwards enjoy the simple but cosy rooms for a relaxing sleep. The breakfast is very OK.

This is a very historic hotel managed by a friendly staff. We found it highly unusual that the hotel is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, even though that was not noted when we made our reservations for Sunday to Wednesday. Nonetheless, we found the elderly couple who manage the hotel very accommodating. Rooms very clean. Be prepared yo climb several... More

We have stayed here before in a lovely corner bedroom on the main road, this time in a small (very small) room at the back of the hotel over looking the kitchens, but as we spent so long out od the hotel, this didn't have a great impact on our stay, but when we stay again (and we will) we... More

We had a good meal here after a long drive from Italy. We chose one of the prix-fixe menus and a decent but inexpensive Gard wine. We both had as first course a feuilleté of puff pastry with ham - this was tasty, if a little salty, but rather heavy. The main courses were absolutely delicious; I had the magret... More
