We spent a night at this lovely Colonial Mansion with central courtyard, seating and lovely plants. Meson de Elena, April 2015, and also visited the gift shop boutique next door, all in all a good experience, rooms very comfortable, our room was downstairs and a bit noisy for a while as it was facing the main road, the rooms upstairs...

This is a great property in a quiet, rural town; enroute between Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. Our room was large and quiet; on the 2nd floor overlooking the interior courtyard. English is not a strength but we get by just fine. Everybody tries with graciousness. Breakfast was cooked to our request and that was sincerely appreciated. Additionally although wifi was...

Meson Santa Elena is an extraordinary opportunity to experience the elegance of a historic colonial mansion in a traditional Mexican town. The old house has been beautifully restored, with a lovely courtyard and well-appointed rooms. The service is proper and welcoming. The breakfast ample and delicious. Newer and larger rooms on the upper level have terraces with views out on...

Going back in time staying in this updated old mansion. Many original rooms with high ceilings and stone floors. Tall windows on the second floor open to the inner courtyard. Odd, that the center upstairs room, which we had, did not have screens on the windows in an area known for mosquitoes. The hot water in the shower took time...

Great opportunity to visit an old Hacienda style building - room was clean, staff friendly but no English spoken, fortunately for me m y wife speaks Spanish otherwise it would have been a frusrating experience for me. With our booking we were supposed to receive a welcoming drink but it did not appear. We were the only guests and stayed...

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was small and dark with a very comfortable bed, good shower, lots of hot water. We had a second floor room with a terrace, table, chairs and view of the cathedral, town and hills. That made up for the room as that's where we hung out. The breakfasts are...

We picked Mascota to get away from the crowds at Puerto Vallarta. Meson de Santa Elena was a perfect place. San Sabastian is an awesome room. The service is good, food - breakfast - included in the price - was nice. The staff is friendly, but only had one person who spoke any English. Not knowing Spanish, that was a...

Mascota is a lovely little town nestled in a valley not far East from Puerto Vallarta. It is worth a visit. If you go there, make sure to see the anthropological museum at the Casa de Cultura - a couple of blocks from the plaza. It is free and has an amazing collection of artifacts documented by the National Geographic...

this was a treat given the town is not really a tourist centre and there are not that many places to stay. You are right in the centre of town and can walk anywhere. The hacienda itself has been accurately described by the other reviewers - authentic and welcoming. We enjoyed the ruins near the entrance to town and had...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Romantic, romantic, romantic is what Meson de Santa Elena is all about. It's hard to believe you are in a bed and breakfast hotel instead of a private guest at a 18th century hacienda. The owners of this beautiful inn are the family Robles Sahagun who love this home almost as much as Chayito, the mother of the family, loves receiving her guests with a warmth of hospitality that is reflected in every corner. Breakfast is included in the sunny patio or in your room. ... more   less
